Youth Hockey Information

If you are a new or prospective hockey parent looking for hockey information, look no further. This is a one stop site for you to get all the basic hockey information you may need to get your son or daughter involved in a youth hockey program.

When my son first wanted to get involved in a hockey program, I didn’t really know how to get started or where to find the hockey information I needed.  Most of the information I found was gathered from various searches on Google or talking with people that had been involved with hockey previously.  Part of my frustration was that I was unable to find a site that gave me everything, or most everything, that I was looking for.  I had to do numerous searches and even then I still wasn’t able to find all the answers that I was looking for.  This is the reason that I created this site.  My goal was to identify the things that I had questions on, and provide you the reader with the answers that I found in my first two years of involvement in this fantastic sport.

The links that I’ve provided below are all within the site that I’ve created,  If you click one of these links, a page to my site will open in a new window.  On this site you will find hockey information on how to get started in the game, the hockey equipment that is required, the various costs of the sport, and a number of blog posts on some key aspects of the game.  So lets get you started and get you the information you may be looking for:

The Hockey Guide link will give you an overview on the following types of hockey information:

  • How and where to get started
  • Hockey Equipment requirements
  • Hockey Sticks and what you need for your new player
  • Where to find hockey equipment
  • Costs of the sport

Useful Links is a few helpful links that I’ve used that contain some useful information on hockey programs, where to purchase hockey equipment, and some general forums that have a lot of good information.

Part of this site is dedicated to various BLOG Posts that I write from time to time.  Here you will find a variety of topics on hockey, all hopefully geared to providing you and your child with some additional hockey information that you may find useful.  Some of these posts at the time of this article are:  hockey socks, hockey girdles, stickhandling skills, stretching, and the American Development Model.

As I mentioned above, there was not a single site that I was able to find to help new parents understand how to get their child started in the game.  I hope you find the hockey information on this site helpful.  While it’s not intended to give you every single answer you are looking for, I’m hoping at a minimum it will help to get you started and give you a basic understanding of things.
