The rinks make plenty of money to be profitable. The problem is it's a 24/7 business with huge overhead. Everything constantly needs to be fixed. That's why you see most rinks in disrepair. The owners do whatever they can to avoid continuously paying for repairs.

You must live in a box, compared to 20 years ago Flyers have little interest. tickets are dirt cheap, lots of empty seats. Go to most schools you wont find many flyer jerseys anymore, NE skate zone & AC skate zone are holding on for dear life. Pennsauken has no youth league only thing keeps them alive is Tier 1 and Snider youth which is a freebie and some rentals. At least two rinks have closed in last 10 years with wintersport being next. FYI Flyers organization is well aware of situation and have been in panic mode for awhile "hence Gritty" and kicking hextall to curb. A long playoff run will help their cause but team has long history of crapping out this time of year.

Comcast owns all the Skate Zone. So pls feel bad for them and remember how sad you are for them and there dieing rinks... when you complain to them about ripping you off on you cable/Internet Bill.
