4v4 fundraiser

The LVPY held their 3rd annual Mark Spease 4v4 fundraiser this past weekend. It's a great event to raise money for the teams. They do many different activities throughout the weekend with 2 seniors getting scholarship money. While it's a great thing it was also a reminder why we left this club years ago. We went to support former teammates and friends. They have a 4v4 tournament of just Phantoms Youth players, for example the 2 18U teams made 4 smaller teams and this is the age we were there to support. They made 2 strong teams and 2 weaker teams, instead of 4 balanced teams. What kind of low life would fix a charity tournament that is meant to be fun, it had the same stink as how M.M. puts together the spring league.  Then to watch a team run up the score and cherry pick for countless breakaways against their own teammate's shows the work of the classless jerk K.K.. But, hey he's a part owner of the rink so he can be a bigger ass now then he was before. Way to divide your locker rooms right before the season starts. He is the reason we left to begin with. I only hope when our teams' cross paths this year you try that shit.

If medals and trophies are that important that one must "fix" this event for your kids, you need to check out K2Awards. They have cheap hockey medals and trophies; you can go to town and buy them as many as you want. The concept of this sounds like a really good idea but unfortunately it also sounds like adult error took away from it. Hopefully the players will be more mature than the adults and move past this for the good of your team.

My son was also with this organization and had to deal with the same people. My kid never got a fair shot with them especially since he played in a locked position. Since leaving he has played at a higher level winning silver sticks and making it to districts. Reading the original post I'm not shocked at all.

Seeing this makes me happy that we went to Palmyra instead. My son's scholastic teammate's parents tried to talk us into going up there after BB ended the Vipers. We looked at both clubs being that there is only a 10 min difference in travel time. Fees were with just about the same and at Palmyra with BB we get 2 tournaments included, I don't think the Phantoms offer even 1 with their fees. It was really a no brainer.
