Give me a break. Penalize a kid because he worked hard and is good at hockey and wants to play in front of his schoolmates.

Get better then that kid won't dominate.

The Participation Award Generation kills me.  It's OK to lose.

My son is an elite level player and there is absolutely no way I would allow him to play ‘unofficial’ school hockey. I even have reservations about his playing varsity allowing it only while a freshman and sophomore.  He gets little to nothing out of it while risking injury and needlessly demoralizing others.

That's your choice but might not be a choice of other parents for their kids.  Afraid to get injured?  They can get injured walking down the sidewalk. Guess what your kid isn't going anywhere in hockey. Let him enjoy his HS life

I’ll have him send you a signed photo from the USHL (you can look up what that is, champ)....
So then HS hockey isn't an option for him then. What's your point? Congrats on being the father of a USHL player?

Either the league is that bad or the kid is really good, but not USHL good. The kid should play. Don't see who it's hurting.
