CB South Titans squeeze blood out of a diamond, but Rams remain unbeaten

Pennridge Rams defeat CB South Titans in OT, remain unbeaten.

COLMAR, PA - Oh so close! Central Bucks South ahead late in the game by a 5-1 margin squandered five straight goals and suffered defeat in OT to what is seemingly an unbeatable Pennridge squad. Four of which were by "that line" of Shane Dachowski, Andrew Savona, and Kevin Pico. The hero of the game you'd think would be the OT game-winner, James Rush, but instead turns out to be the goalie Jacob Winton. Winton finished the game with an undisclosed injury which took place after a collision with a Titans skater early on. Winton was visibly shaken after the fact and gave up a few goals but ultimately settled in, regained his composure, and set the table for his Pennridge teammates to mount a comeback and ultimately win the game.

CB South came out like gangbusters looking to make a mark and stake their claim as the lone SHSHL team to take down Jeff Montagna's Rams powerhouse. As the stars began to align, the first and second periods sure looked like coach, Sean McGinty's Titans were going to skate away with a blowout win, but what wasn't seen was the Asteroid that was about to knock those stars completely out of alignment. Like Wednesday night's win against Council Rock South, Pennridge scored most of their goals on special teams. Except this time they did it twice, short-handed, within twenty seconds of each other, both by Andrew Savona. It's safe to say that coach McGinty had his players ready to play the big game, more so than any other team that has matched up against the Rams thus far, but what they weren't ready for was the late game push by a determined Rams bench who refused to lose. In the end, the Titans are the only team in the SHSHL to finish a regulation game with at least a point against Pennridge but the result is still the same, Pennridge remains unbeaten and is pulling away from the pack with a commanding four-point lead in the National Division.

Long story short, the Titans have proven they have a well-equipped, and formidable bench very capable of competing against and beating any team in the league. If they can find a way to hang on to a late-game lead, they could turn some heads in the postseason and Flyers Cup Tournament.
