Tier 2 Evals - Best of Luck!!!
Topic: March 21, 2022, 08:47:39 AM
Best of luck to all of your players during evals. Parents, keep in mind that letters are just letters and all roads lead to beer league.

I hoping that the road leads him to want to go to college and play club there and get a degree leading to a good job, then beer leagues. I'm not talking scholarship to Big 10 or anything like that. I'm talking Penn State Berks, Kutztown, Bloomsburg, Delaware U along those lines.

Penn State Berks has a ways to go before they become relevant. Their program was shut down for the past 2 years and the last time they had a team they were 1 and 15 in the regular season. They are taking anybody who wants to play right now and they're going to be bad for at least 3 years. Playing in the ACHA doesn't help their cause either.

You miss the point. If you can go to college and are lucky enough to get a degree as well, what is the issue? Who cares if the team went 1-15. I bet the team is relevant to  kids on team. You are an idiot. It is not about wining or losing, but being a part of a team and working with others. That is very valuable when you get in the real world!

having gone through this recently with my son and also seeing choices some of his friends made, please make sure hockey is far down on the list on why he is choosing a school. I've seen a few kids make dumb choices just to play a club sport and college is too expensive to make a mistake.

The responses are missing my point. I am wishing the young players Mite-Squirt-PW best of luck this week. To say they are on track to play anything beyond college beer league is naïve.

You are correct sir! Everyone thinks there kid is going to the NHL. Odds of that are less than .001%. Ask all those Canadian families about their kids. Let kids be kids, have fun and enjoy the game. Good luck to all the kids at Tier II tryouts. Have fun, work hard and enjoy the time spent on the ice!

I see where he is coming from. If his kid is like mine and hates school club hockey in college maybe the only thing gets them to go.
