Topic: August 28, 2020, 07:28:04 PM
The DVHL has devised a set of proposals in order to move forward with the 2020-21 season.

In the event Governor Tom Wolf does not change his occupancy limit of 25, they've provided a rough draft of options available to all participating organizations.

If they’re considering the scorer’s booth as a separate gathering, why can’t each bench be too???

All three plans are absurd. Is it that hard to just push everything back a few months and play a regular season. A building is a building, enough with a locker room, bench, scorer’s box etc. being separate spaces. It is insane what is going on with these options.

There was a bantam A game today and played:
3 14 or 15 minute regular periods/ 1 3v3 OT in the event of a tie
9 skaters, 1 goaliie, 1 coach
Quick swapping of players from the locker room to the bench during any game stoppage.

There was very little delay due to swapping during stoppages, and the game ended very close to a pre-restriction game would have ended. At least something to consider

Here’s my opinion.

I’d push back a DVHL schedule and setup 3v3 games with minimal players. Keep score but be more tournament oriented.  Let the typical team be two teams. Run a tournament schedule at larger facilities.  This keeps kids playing which is my desire.

Leagues, playoffs and national bound tournaments can wait. A condensed schedule can start in January.

Rinks get revenue, teams practice, players get games.

Break up the teams make multiple 10 player teams inestead of making players sit in the locker room. The things those two jit bags make happen are ludicrus.

I agree each bench is a separate area. The ice is also a separate area.

Sitting in a locker room in a confined area doesn’t seem smart. Sitting on the bench in a open area seems way safer.

Make face shields the requirement for players and lets play as normal.

I really don't see how 16 or 18, especially at the AA level, will be able to play with 3 D.

We've been playing at the EJ showcase all weekend in Aston. They are following the rules - 9 skaters on the bench, etc. - and there really isn't an issue. They have a good system set up for swapping kids in and out. My skater is having a great time. Said parents not in the stands is a good thing. LOL. People need to stop complaining, just follow the rules, and let the kids play. It's really fine and the best way to keep everyone safe. If you have a tantrum, refuse to play unless it's "normal", and pull your kid - you have no one to blame but yourself.

Well that is encouraging however it is a younger age group and from what I understand they also allow switches within the period. DVHL appears to be set on between period switches.

Maybe they will see the positive review and tweak the proposal.

Hopefully it will all be talk and it will be open up by October 3.
