This guy is right. In New Jersey and many other parts of the country they don’t label their two birth year divisions AA and A. They named them “major“ and “minor“. So what the DvHL should do is call the divisions midget “major“ which is obviously for the major age 2003 players and midget “minor“ which would be for the minor aged 04s. Then if you have less talented players or teams from smaller organizations who just want to play recreationally then create a midget “B“ division. That way you would not have people saying that a team at all minor age kids should be playing up in a 2003 division against boys that could be up to 23 months older than them,  which doesn’t make a lot of sense from a safety perspective

Blazers already have a team in Midget AA which is their major age (03) team. Their younger team, which are all minor-age (04) players are in National A which is exactly where they belong. Why would there be an expectation that the blazers, in addition to putting one team iAA, also put their minor age pure 04 team in mostly major-age AA?  If there are teams in National A that can not hang with the Blazers 04 team then maybe it is those teams that are in the wrong division and should be in American A.  AA is for all, or mostly all, major-aged kids(03s), National A is for the more talented minor aged kids (04s) and maybe some less talented major-aged kids. American A is for the less talented minor- aged (04) kids.  Again, the Blazers 04 team is exactly where they belong, if there are teams that cannot hang with them then they are the ones in the wrong division and should be playing American A.

Wasn't the Blazers team originally going to be 15AA? Then changed to 16A National? Genesis was also 15AA but did the right thing and stayed at 16AA. They have 3 03's which isn't going to tip the scales making them a Major team. They're still midget minor AA and they are competing fine against 03 AA teams. If you're complaining about the Blazer team being too young, look at the teams they'll be playing against at 16A National. Many are entirely 03's. So that's just a cop out.

Why is staying in 16AA the "right" thing.  Surely that is only your opinion.  Are opinions different from yours not allowed? Many think that was a "wrong" decision and Genesis would have been better served playing National A.  Some suspect that was what they really would have preferred but they screwed themselves by taking those three "wont-tip-the-scales" 2003's.  And it was those 2003 parents who would not stand for their little Gretzkys playing against mostly 04's and therefore were forced into AA.  Hey, when are the home and home non-league games between the Genesis 16AA team and the Blazers all-04 team, because I'd like to get popcorn for that!

The pure 04 Blazers team's primary league is the EJEPL.  They are playing in the U15 Diamond division.  Is that OK, or would the "right" thing to do is play in the U16 division?

They didn't play in the pure 04 15U pure level they played at the 16U tier 1 level. They are playing at their talent level where they belong. Unlike the Blazers who are obviously sandbagging playing down.

Nobody cares about the EJ it's a supplemental league. Half of the teams competing are independent elite teams who brand themselves as tier 1 which they're not. It's a meaningless league loaded with teams that are no better than A level.

Doesn't the Blazers team have several AAA and AA players? Why would their parents want them playing down even further after they moved over from the higher levels to begin with? Whipping A teams is going to be senseless unless they only care about the banner.
