This forum is for parents, coaches and rink directors to spread lies about rinks they dislike and are threatened by.

Seems a lot of rinks are looking for goalies in the 10U & 12U ages. Some rinks still looking for skates too. Too few players, too many teams (Tier 1 & Tier 2) and too expensive. This is hockey in 2024!

I am being told that teams at PHC, FE, LF, JrF, **** and Rev have all taken AA & A players. A few B players added to AAA teams but were all goalies. Heard PHC 2012 teams is a mess and Rev 2012 might not have enough players to roster a pure age team. Rumor of FE not having pure age teams turned out to be BS. Lots of movement rink to rink and AAA to AA and vice versa. Heard the rink that lost the most players was FY with Igloo a close 2nd. Igloo fired hockey director after terrible turnout for tryouts. Hollydell lost a lot of kids as well, but gained just as many at both PHC and Hurricanes. This was one of the craziest years for movement below Bantam for Tier 1 & Tier 2. Good luck to all the teams next season.

FE took a number of B players, how does t2 survive when t1 is allowed to stoop so low, whole thing is out of whack

What exactly is a AA player.  Someone who played AA last year or are you judging their talent level?  These teams should take A or AA players if they are good enough.  Players at AAA who were not competing should drop down, work on their game, and go AAA again later.   Believe it or not, sometimes kids move to AAA from A or AA and end up being one of the best players on the team and league.   Kids develop at different times.  A lot of focus on these young teams on this board.  Everyone on this board's kid, a friend's kid, or a neighbor who plays hockey and wants to play in college will be a 21-year-old freshman.   You have time.  Enjoy the ride and get the kid on a team where he will have good coaching and will see the ice a lot.  The kids need to have fun and if they want to progress, they will work for it.

The harsh reality that not many people want to admit is that 2/3 of AAA and AA don't live up to the levels they play. AAA is a money grab for the majority of clubs in this area. Clubs would be better off focusing on Tier 2 and actually developing players so they can compete in future years. My kids have played at every level from B to AAA. I've see AAA players drop to Tier 2 and not make AA. I've also seen AA players make AAA where they wouldn't have remained on their AA team.

What FE team took B players? Only B players I was told of were goalies. Do you know something I don't?

Just because a 9U to 12U year old played B last season does not mean they did not get better and can now play AAA. Kids improve very fast at these ages if they put in the work and get bigger. I know 4 2013 B players better than kids that made AAA. Their parents did not want AAA this year as the jump in level, money and time commitment was too much. 2 are playing A/ 2 AA. People need to chill out about AAA, AA, A or B. Things change so fast at the younger ages. You see the best kid at SQ Major now maybe the 3rd or 4th best on the team with basically the same the players. Parents need to enjoy the ride and let your kid have fun!
