POLL: Decisions based on AHF - DVHL changes

Should’ve waited for this poll until the BB season prices come out.

I also would have some concerns that DVHL may not have AA or a lot of teams in equally competitive brackets. But I also heard that at least in Pennsylvania, all teams would still have to play each other, whether in DVHL, or AHF, in order to be able to qualify for districts/playoffs, etc. So the teams would still have to play each other regardless of their league. Not sure if that is really true or not.

Yeah that’s the issue.  No one seems to know what’s going on.  There’s been no clarification from the league or district since the ambiguously worded letter from the AAHA President.

Do we as a Dvhl team need to play only Dvhl games and some nonleague games to at least make the minimum number of games to qualify for districts?  Or do we need to play each in state AHF team in our equivalent bracket at least once to be qualified?

My main question is how the Dvhl will address parity within the divisions given the smaller number of teams available.  For instance, we may find ourselves with ~15 Peewee teams total across all 5 divisions.  Are they going to eliminate divisions?  Make one large division?  Have really small divisions that essentially serve as a conduit for entrance to districts?  The first two options seem as though you’d end up with teams going up against teams they have no business playing against.

the club my son is in said fees would go up $300, if they stayed in the DVHL they said the fee would go up $100 so only a $200 difference.. For that I will give AHF a season to see if it's worth the extra $.

Heard BB costs will be between $200 - $1K more than DVHL.  For me, it's doing what is best for my kids and there are to many instances where the DVHL turns a blind eye towards hockey directors and rink managers and their BS.  Often the DVHL seems to take the (we're doing the best we can) approach you'd expect to get from a non-profit.  With the AHF, they're selling a product and I'd like to think the quality will be better.  Yeah they had issues this past year, but nothing I haven't seen in volume with the DVHL.
