Buying competition and putting it out of business is as American as apple pie. Stop whining.

According to Food52, apple pie first originated in England, where it arose out of culinary influences from France, the Netherlands, and the Ottoman Empire as early as 1390—centuries before the Pilgrims set foot on Plymouth Rock. Just Sayin😂

Future plans in doubt for local hockey clubs, as local ice-skating rink prepares
Unfortunately the old owner didn't care enough to keep the Rink a hockey rink and now they are trying to quilt the new owners for not keeping it one. It really does look like a good business move for Steel Ice to build another sheet.

Thanks God BB didn't get involved, it would have sucked to have them keep another dying rink alive and kids playing hockey, heaven forbid they may have to play in the AHF.  They're the devil I tell ya.

Not even BB could have saved this rink. While they had plenty of hockey out of it only 1 or 2 lite travel teams played out of the Rink. They were losing kids every year, which is surprising since their fees were at least $1000 less than the Phantoms. No value for the AHF = no value for BB.

They had more than enough revenue to remain open. The rebels were the club team playing out of there. All of the high school teams played out of there, Kutztown U's 2 teams played out of there and numerous others. Phil wanted out and took the highest bid. Let's see what Steel Ice does with the Rebels, will BB strong arm them into forcing them to find ice somewhere else since LVPY is playing ahf?

I hope that the Phantoms will take on the 1 or 2 whole teams the Rebels had for this season. Steel Ice will more than likely do nothing for the Rebels and why would they? I can foresee a 3rd rink in the Steel Ice future. I hope that the scholastic league will be able to find ice until then, the PPL center and Allentown should step up to help out the scholastic league. KU can move back to Body Zone, it's Muhlenburg College that will have a tougher time finding a home. They also have Muni that can provide ice slots for 2-3 months or more while it has ice.

Why would BB strong arm them? BB didn't strong arm the LVPY with having a tier1 team playing in the AYHL not the THF.  Your hate for BB is showing.

Go ask the Rebels parents and players if they haven't been welcomed with open arms. If you don't know what you're talking about, and you don't, you shouldn't comment.
No one wanted this to happen. It did, now we have to work through it, and find a way to get kids on the ice.

Who are you ranting at? from what I saw on these post nothing suggested that the Rebels players weren't welcomed by anyone. I saw some comments that said they hoped the Phantoms would take them on but nothing to suggest otherwise. I for one know that a bunch of Rebels players have indeed moved onto the Phantoms.
