HATFIELD, PA. - To say it's been a crazy ride would be a vast understatement. The SHSHL regular season normally begins at the beginning of November and by this time it would be almost halfway completed. But because of the pandemic and numerous shutdowns, the league postponed the start to 2021 following a swath of guidelines from the state and local authorities to league and rink owners alike. So here we are, we've waited patiently and now it begins. Let's get started with introducing the Knights lineup. The Knights lost scoring power from last year's team in Tyler Greenstein and Josh Kaufhold, but return the existing group plus a few new faces. Starting at goalkeeper, Jon Boyles steps in. Jon is a senior goalie who saw time as a swing player, splitting time between Junior Varsity and Varsity in 2019-2020. On the forward lines, the returning seniors are Zack Cline, Jeromy Porubski, D.J. Zeiger, and Quinn Holt. Juniors, Tony Tuozzo and Justin Yothers, and sophomore's Ryan Kaufhold and newly added, Nolan O'Toole. Freshmen John Stinson and Joey Silvotti round out the offense. On the defensive side, the returning seniors are Ryan Cunningham and Chase Mueller, Junior, Ben Mostochuk, and sophomores Tyler Porubski and Sam Mostochuk.

The game started with the Knights firmly in control on both sides of the puck. North Penn controlled the puck throughout the first period while testing Souderton goaltender Amanda Kaminsky frequently. Freshman John Stinson started the scoring followed shortly thereafter by fellow freshman Joey Silvotti. The Knight's grip was firmly secured on an unassisted goal by Ryan Kaufhold, all within the first 5 minutes of the game. Zack Cline would complete the scoring with a power-play goal at the end of the first to carry a 4-0 lead into the second.

Captain Ryan Cunningham would begin the second period with a dazzling shorthanded effort sneaking in from the point and shaking around two Indians defensemen before going top shelf glove side to make the score 5-0. The Knights would add another goal by Tony Tuozzo before heading into the third with a 6-0 lead.

The Knights kept the pressure on to help preserve a shutout for first-time senior starting goalie, Jon Boyles. Chase Mueller would pot his first of the season with a rocket snapshot from the slot beating the Souderton goalie glove side. Ryan Kaufhold would go top shelf for his second of the game and Jeromy Porubski would complete the scoring with two end-to-end rushes both beating the Souderton defense from the outside-in, the first going long side off of the post and the second going five-hole to end the game. Although the resulting score was in favor of the North Penn, Souderton's goalie played an incredible game, Amanda Kaminsky was bombarded with shots throughout and she never conceded, she made many extraordinary saves.
