Tournament playing times
Topic: October 07, 2019, 11:16:59 AM
Can anybody give me one good reason why tournament game times are being scheduled for 10pm for 14U? I thought this was a mixup at our last tournament but now I see we're scheduled for a game at 9am and the next one 10:15pm on the same day for our next tournament. And then 8am the following morning. What the hell is wrong with these people managing these things? Since when did beer league time slots become tournament game slots for children?  >:( >:( >:( >:(

Most of the companies overbook, there should be 4 teams per age group. Instead they're doing 6 to 7 teams accepting anybody who wants to play and level doesn't matter anymore either. It's all about money.

If this is your first time getting late game times just wait until your schedule changes 3 or 4 times before you get to the tournament. That's fun.

10 to 12 hrs between games is ridiculous. They're tired from running around all day at the hotel or swimming and then having to play a game that ends at midnight isn't just stupidity it's borderline mental.

Precisely why our team stopped going to most tournaments.  Ridiculous schedules. Inconsistent competition.  Complete racket and way too expensive.  Spring tournaments are even worse...

And it seems like there is a tournament at our rink (Hatfield) every month. It's overkill.
