WBS knights will no longer exist. The WBS Cosmonauts will be the new team.

Same opponents all the time sucks but AHF had some teams play each other 3-4 times. And some of those drives would have been the same if they scheduled teams out of the state.

There tons of rumors about the Wilmington Night Hawks.  But they don't make any sense.

what are the rumors?  Trying to see what things look like at peewee next year.

genesis will not be in AHF.
As a parent currently with Genesis I'd welcome a change and a switch to the AHF. Being in a division with a whopping 7 teams this year sucked. I know playing in the EJ is an option but we played the same DVHL teams in that league, how exciting. I truly didn't enjoy the last 2yrs in the DVHL and may consider looking at other options, if the kid agrees to do so.

Our genesis team played around 25 different opponents this year (and we will add a few more over the next couple weeks) and I know my kid had a blast. Had some once in a lifetime trips catching gator specs in florida and monster salmon in New York, all with friends that have been together for years and winning tournaments at the same time. If you want to jump ship to go to teams that cost more so you can play one or two more opponents, spend your money on stuff like a for profit league paying tier 2 coaches, then go right ahead...but I think you're missing the point. Have a blast and make some memories with kids and friends that you'll never forget.

Would we give all that up to drive an extra hour to practice and pay more for the same ice time just to play on a team that's ranked a half point more on MHR. Nah.

I agree my son plays in the AHF and he played 36 league games and 16 of those were against 4 teams but the drive part isn't accurate, at least for us. My step son plays in the DVHL and EJ this year and played

some of the same teams in both leagues, 3 teams 4 times each(twice in each league) and ended up with 32 games combined and the travel to some of the EJ teams was far more than I did for AHF games.

the fact that you played 25 diff opponents has nothing to do with playing in a division with 7 has stated by the commentor. Any decent manager will get you into tournaments for extra $$ and non league games. Our team in the AHF has already played around 50(36 league) games with 1 more tournament and a non league outdoor game to go with 34 different opponents. Just like you we are making memories and having a blast with only a $200 difference in season fees.

Op here.

I also heard the WBS Jr Knights were folding, but I’d be kind of shocked at that.  I understand them not doing tier 2 given they only had a few teams, but I thought their tier 1 and junior programs were pretty well respected and they have a nice facility.

I thought the same up until this year. My son is friends with some of their tier1 and junior players and they all said it's falling apart. From what they said all the top goalies at tier1 are leaving and it's causing a trickle down effect to the skaters. The kids we know on the juniors team said it's getting so bad that the club told his parents he may get to play for free if he stays next year. Seems most aren't really that happy there anymore.

To those who disliked my comment I'm sorry for hurting your feelings, please tell e why you disliked it. If you read my other comment above you'd see I may have more in site than most being my son plays in the AHF and my Step-son is in the DVHL and also the EJ this year. I know what the cost was for both kids and my son in the AHF played more games for a little extra. They played the same amount of tournaments and even went to the same tournament twice. But the AHF has showcases that you needed to stay in a hotel, well guess what so did the EJ. Would I love my step-son to play with the same club, sure multi player discount😂. He was with his club for 6yrs before I married his mom, made friends and enjoys it there. Same with my son, he is with his team for 8yrs and we decided neither would be forced to leave. Heck, they don't even play on the same scholastic team. Step son is middle school at a private school(provided by his dads family) and my son is on JV at public school. I truly get to see all sides good and bad from all leagues and in just their 2nd yr I'm happy with the direction the AHF is going.
