Lets squeeze 1 and a half hour ice slots down to 45 minutes. Great idea. >:(

USA Hockey is getting them ready for the future rules in the NHL. the icing rule will happen at the pro levels. the thought is you're shorthanded for a reason and shouldn't be allowed to waste time of the penalty by icing the puck.

Its the exact opposite, long boring bee and a american games are going to run out of time to play regularly. Between penalties offsides and icings they may no t get out of the second period most games. Coaches tell their kids to ice the puck on teams that have a hard time passing.
