Coach complaining myhockey won't let aa team play a
Topic: October 23, 2019, 03:35:46 AM
Seems that myhockey is trying to do the right thing with their tournament in this case at least. This guy is complaining to usahockey hockeycanada and myhockey about his aa team being denied access to an a level tournament. His complaint is 2 sided, he wants his aa team to be in a but myhockey placed them in aa instead. So they backed out. He said he wanted a positive and competitive experience playing in a lower level? For who them at the expense of the a level teams who travel far and pay a lot to have to play teams a level aboe them? Listen I get losing money sucks but this is what you signed up for and this is where they put you where your team belongs.

It makes me feel good this morning that a parent upset that their coach wanted to do this, thank you!  I don't understand the mentality of wanting to drop down a level just to bring home a useless banner.  Who feels good about that win, you drop down a level you better win.  The other side is if you're a bottom AA team and playing in a top A level where the MHR are close than maybe it makes sense, but as a parent I don't want my AA son winning an A tourney.

AAA,AA,A the coach sounds like he knows where his team should be placed. If the tourney won’t let them play at the level they registered at they should be refunded their money from the deposit.

The tournament running the show decides where the teams play, its in the fine print. They all give an out clause but you have to be out before a certain time limit and it sounds like they waited too long.

Anyone who has played hockey long enough knows that Canadian A teams are equivalent to US AA teams. So if they are playing in the A bracket in Canada, then they would be playing at the level they should be. I thought a teams record was taken in to consideration.

This is a lot of crap. The coach just want an easy win... glad the tourney is doing the right thing. My kids have been too many times on the opposite side with team that should have been in higher brackets.

I think Canadian A is USA AA for the majority of US teams. I think the coach was correct.
