I hope they don't keep anything from Hatfield.  Combining the two clubs will create an org that takes in nearly $1M annually. Hatfield has a history of trouble with their tax filing requirements.  A fresh start would would be good for them.

This Genesis experiment could be a great thing, but it looks like it will simply hold the current philosophy that the Ice Dogs and Wildcats share: Get our Midget AA teams to nationals. That is all they care about. There is no plan to develop young players. In both clubs, only a small number of long-time members have made those top AA teams. Both clubs have heavily recruited at midget and look for that to continue. It's not worth a 30 minute drive.

They just need people on the board who have the kids best interests at hand. Not their own children (i.e. Lerhaupt and Pico)

They transferred and kept all their previous problems that destroyed the organization and renamed the team.  Coaching committee still there, same people lining their pockets are still picking the teams, and running the program, problem board members, etc.   I hear good things about Montagna but adding his name to something that is broken won’t fix it.

That's not true. Genesis is playing out of there and Hatfield you must be thinking of Wintersport Royals down the road, same owner.

What the hell happened. I was on the Ice Dogs board once upon a time (over 10 years ago). The club was financially sound, had to turn kids away because we could not get enough ice to support more than 18 teams. The club was consistently successful at all levels winning at league, district, and the national level. What a shame.

The current board mishandled money a lot as in didn't pay Hatfield and they have no concept of how to run a hockey club. Do you know somebody on the Ice Dog's board? If you do that determined where your kid played. The whole idea sold to the membership at the town halls was that the Ice Dog board would be eliminated and the Wildcats board would run everything. Nope, the same people who ruined the Ice Dogs are on the Genesis board too. The Genesis operation looks a whole lot like everything on the Ice Dogs website.
