Youth Hockey Info:
The point about scouting is, that is how they sell themselves. You play showcases that scouts come to. They don't.

Since the thread became about how bad the EJ is and didn’t attempt o answer the original question, I took a look.   The link on the EJEPL website about showcase hotels (Eastern Junior Elite Prospects League)takes you here’s:

Depending on age the look to be anywhere from York, PA to Long Island.  Hope that helps.

As far as the league, my oldest plays 18UAA and in the EJEPL 18U Diamond 1 Division.  I’ve never seen a scout.  His team deems the league optional.  Most kids play and some don’t.  It has no impact on their playing time.  I think think the league is a joke but I keep that to myself.  He plays for additional games.  No delusions of grandeur or scouts.  There are some good teams and some bad ones.  Just like the NJYHL where he’s been playing his whole life.

Youth hockey is a money grab.  My youngest plays AAA and it’s worse.  He gets a ton of invites to elite campsite and tournaments.  Promises of pro, college and pro coaches.  If he does any of them it’s because he wants to,  Everyone can get over that and enjoy watching their kids while they can.  They’ll be on to adulthood soon enough.  You can go watch their men’s league games or maybe if your good enough, play with them.

Its two showcases. You play 8 of your EJ game schedule at these venues. Pretty much comes down to 4 away games because you play 4 games at your home rink to make your 16 game schedule.   It supplements non-league games and does a very good job of doing that.

Go tell a kid todays game is a "non league game" and see instantly how they change their attitude. At least with EJ you eliminate a far majority of your non league games.
