Spring league 14u Youth Hockey Brawl
(1/1)
Youth Hockey Info:
This isn't an isolated incident. Many consider this New Western Bruins 14u hockey team dirty, some coaches have refused to play them. One coach said they have been doing this since squirt, their coaches and the parents encourage fighting.
“They’re pretty notorious,” Adam Schwartz, president of the Ridge Meadows Minor Hockey Association, said of the Bruins.
The Bruins are coached by Nick Boorman, who once coached in the Ridge Meadows association, Schwartz said, but was removed by the association over differences in coaching philosophy.
The 2005 New Western Bruins, Schwartz said, “go out and try to hurt people all the time, it’s part of their culture.”
In the video, an adult male can be heard encouraging the violence. As the scene unfolds, a voice shouts: “Way to go boys!” and “That’s awesome!”
The Spartans after that game released a statement announcing the team wouldn’t play the Bruins again.
“Our past encounters with the 2005 New Western Bruins have seen rough and dangerous play, Bruins coaches ejected (twice), and verbal and physical threats by Bruins parents against Spartans parents and coaches,” it read.

That place in general is terrible. We attended a hockey tournament there and placed 19 years olds against 16 u players. The rink knew and allowed it. The 19 year olds went out for blood. I hope they enjoyed a plastic banner/trophy.
