I will believe when I see it that FY goes AAA.  That program is loosing kids like crazy.  There is a lot of chatter of kids and teams moving division's but its all hear say.

It was extended to 2026.

Well then I guess BB and their trash AAA teams have a 1 year extension. FY will get AAA status in 2026 and multiple BB AAA teams will lose that extra A. Can't wait for 2026!
. Hopefully you have some insider information.  Wasn’t sure how Flyers Youth was able to hold on these past years with all the movement and changes.  Would be nice to see they withstand the storm.  Going AAA though not sure how that helps anyone with so many teams in the area.
It's ok because all roads lead to beer leagues. With all the AAA teams within a hour or two how many put players into the NHL?

Shocking that another topic (BBTV) turned into a pissing contest on the value of AAA, what teams are "good enough" to play AAA and as usual wraps up with the signature line.... "all roads lead to beer league"

Getting back to BBTV. Livebarn sucks. Camera's are blurry, can't make out #'s or players and tracking software is slow you miss a lot of plays. Issue I have is if BB can get other non-owned rinks to install their service. It they do it could be a win, if not 2 services where we needed 1. Time will tell what happens.

.  Love when the envious beer league and NHL comments are thrown out!  It is so brilliant and comical.  Instead kudos to all those players (not parents) who tried to play at the highest level.  Beer league rocks by the way so enjoy the ride!

The issue is the AAA "Highest Level" is a diluted level in the Mid-Atlantic. Besides maybe 2 teams at each age level all the other teams are basically AA. I say this even though my kid plays on those other teams. The AAA of 2024 is not the AAA of 2010. Diluted is an understatement. No jealousy here just the truth!

I made that comment about beer league and stand by it. My kid is on a AAA team and only a hand full on the team is AAA the rest should be AA at best(including my son). AAA isn't what it used to be, let's be honest. I'd rather my son just play AA but his stepdad & mom push it and pay 75% of it. His stepdad played 5yrs in the ECHL and floated for 2yrs between the ECHL & AHL and even says AAA isn't the same from when he played. Beer league is fun and I enjoy it but people are way too high on "my kid is AAA" when reality is most their kids aren't and will play low-mid level club hockey in college(which is great) and be done.

Most kids at AAA will either quit or move down levels after Bantam. It is just the facts. When kids get older they want to hang with friends from HS and do more social events. Hockey is very restrictive and most teenagers do not want to miss out by spending their weekends in a hockey rink. The kids that truly love the game and have that desire to play at a higher level will still play. This is why so few kids from our area wind up playing in college. I know parents of a  kid age 9-14 will say my kid loves it and wants to play college. But that all changes once HS starts. Younger kids don't care about missing weekends with friends because their hockey friends are their friends. Once HS starts girlfriends come into play, other sports, parties, etc. People should just enjoy whatever level their kid plays and let them have fun. My kids play AAA but are really AA. They moved to AAA 2 years ago because their friends moved too. Hockey more so than other sports is just tough to get to the next level because of travel and not having a ton of ice rinks. It is not like soccer, basketball, baseball, lacrosse, etc. All those sports can be practiced at a town or HS venue, but hockey needs ice! Just be happy you kid likes it know, let them enjoy it, don't put too much pressure on them and let them have fun. When it is time to stop playing AAA or altogether they will let you know. Beer league will probably be in their future if they like the game enough but most likely no sport will be in their future at the college level.

Also, give BBTV a chance. It can't be worse than crappy LB!

The "all roads lead to beer leagues" is accurate and there is nothing wrong with beer leagues. Many rinks have different levels and some teams go into tournaments all over the country. Our team finished in 3rd in our bracket at a tournament in Vegas a couple yrs back. Between the gambling, drinking and other adult fun(nothing illegal) we played some hockey. Our forward(female) even got drunken married and knocked up by our goalie, they were not a couple at the time. Good times and it all started with youth hockey for us all. Kids are already getting ready, my kids 16U team has players every game playing high, same with his JV scholastic team.
