Most kids at AAA will either quit or move down levels after Bantam. It is just the facts. When kids get older they want to hang with friends from HS and do more social events. Hockey is very restrictive and most teenagers do not want to miss out by spending their weekends in a hockey rink. The kids that truly love the game and have that desire to play at a higher level will still play. This is why so few kids from our area wind up playing in college. I know parents of a kid age 9-14 will say my kid loves it and wants to play college. But that all changes once HS starts. Younger kids don't care about missing weekends with friends because their hockey friends are their friends. Once HS starts girlfriends come into play, other sports, parties, etc. People should just enjoy whatever level their kid plays and let them have fun. My kids play AAA but are really AA. They moved to AAA 2 years ago because their friends moved too. Hockey more so than other sports is just tough to get to the next level because of travel and not having a ton of ice rinks. It is not like soccer, basketball, baseball, lacrosse, etc. All those sports can be practiced at a town or HS venue, but hockey needs ice! Just be happy you kid likes it know, let them enjoy it, don't put too much pressure on them and let them have fun. When it is time to stop playing AAA or altogether they will let you know. Beer league will probably be in their future if they like the game enough but most likely no sport will be in their future at the college level.
Also, give BBTV a chance. It can't be worse than crappy LB!
