Ryan Kaufhold scores his second goal of the game

HATFIELD, PA. - Three full lines, the first time the Knights have seen it since game one of the season and by coincidence, it would be against the same opponent.

The Knights, looking to right the ship in the second half of the SHSHL regular season came out with a full complement of players ready to get back on the winning track. It was senior night for the Knights, a celebration of almost 15 years of combined participation and contribution with the North Penn Knights Ice Hockey Association. From Middle School to High School Jon Boyles, Zack Cline and Jeromy Porubski have contributed in so many different ways to this student's first hockey program.

The Knights would get on the board first at 11:05 starting the scoring early, Ryan Kaufhold would dent the net with his sixth goal of the season potting a rebound off of Ryan Cunningham's blast from the point. Without much offensive activity from the Indians throughout the first, it would be all Knights as they pounded the Souderton goalie with shots relentlessly. Zack Cline would score the second goal of the game with 3:05 remaining, again from Cunningham. Another blast from the point, Jeromy Porubski knocked down the shot with a deflection in front and Cline picked up the rebound depositing the puck behind Souderton's Connor. The Knights would carry a 2-0 lead into the second period with an 18-3 shot advantage.

The second period would begin with Zack Cline scoring his second goal of the game off of an odd-man rush. Freshman Jack Bates called up for his first Varsity game would take a feed from Porubski, Bates hit the post off of the initial pass but Cline would intercede and pick up the trash to put the Knights up 3-0. The Indians would strike back a minute later as Seth Grossman would beat Knights goalie Jon Boyles, setting the stage for what would eventually become a very productive night for the Souderton forward. The Knights would hit back with Ryan Cunningham firing a rocket from the point beating the screened Souderton goalie. Grossman would find the net again, twice seven minutes later just 20 seconds apart with two arguably saveable shots from just inside the Knights blue line, completing a natural hat trick. Ryan Kaufhold would score again with a dazzling top-shelf beauty for his second of the night with a little over 6 minutes to play in the period. Up 5-3, the Knights would begin the third period with a 34-11 shot advantage.

The third period would start with Ryan Cunningham, inside the Knights defensive zone, below the circles finding Jeromy Porubski streaking through the neutral zone with a laser beam home run pass. Porubski, behind the Souderton defense, would break in unimpeded firing a shot on a line beating the Souderton goalie top shelf blocker side. Souderton, down 6-3 would see Evan Thacker score his first goal of the season at 12:57 closing the gap to two goals. Not to be outdone, the Knights would answer back less than two minutes later, Tony Tuozzo, who hasn't played in 3 games would score off of a close-in rebound in the slot to re-extend the Knights' lead to 3 goals. With under 6 minutes to go, Grossman would score yet again for his 4th goal of the game and 10th of the season. Twenty seconds later Ryan Kaufhold would put the Knights up again by 3 scoring his 3rd goal of the game to complete the hat-trick. The Knights wouldn't look back winning the game 8-5 with a 49-18 shot advantage.
