Calling someone a cancer parent without knowing who they are is kind of a jump. This is my first post on the topic. Politics is everywhere in youth hockey if evaluations were held by an outside firm and coaches assigned after teams are laid out it would fix a ton in the evaluation process. There are coaches everywhere picking super teams that don’t turn out. Coaches pass on kids because they don’t like parents. Then you have coaches that put teams in leagues just to say they are an A level coach and when the kids can’t live up to that it’s never the coaches fault it’s the players are getting the message. Maybe we as parents need to let the chips fall where they may and allow the skill to place them not what ur googles say they are.. kids would be happier and believe it or not so would the families

Rev Families - you are getting a good guy in Vince. It is predictable there will be a handful of naysayers but I can assure you the vast majority of parents have a great respect for Vince. Hopefully there won’t be too many hurdles and the new board will see youth hockey for what it is.

This 100%.  Every complaining parent is not a problem.  There are good parents and good coaches and vice versa in every organization.

How will tryouts work is everyone given the opportunity to make the revolution teams and will the Royals replace their lower revolution teams?

Every good coach I’ve even spoken with said... they messed up the last pick or 2, if they could have done it over again, they would have made a different choice! Even outside evaluators will miss something as drills and games are entirely different.

That is a really good Question. Can anyone answer that?

As a wintersport parent, i would hope everyone is given an equal opportunity. If its a real merger, it shouldn’t be an issue.

Unless I understood the email incorrectly, rev youth is done and it's now all Royals tier ll and rev elite at the tier 1 level. Tier 1 is a level by itself so it's not like the tier ll players will be trying out for both, its one or the other. For elite you tryout out for that, if you don't make it you can still tryout for Royals and normally everybody makes tier ll your just split by A/B or AA. That is where the equal opportunity would lay.

1 or 2 doesn’t make a team. It’s the relationships that will be eliminated (I.e little Johnny misses the team he should play on cause these parents don’t like his dad. Or billy and Bobby have to play together cause their parents are friends and billy really isn’t an A player. Or coach bills kid makes the A team because his dad wants to coach A). If a kid belongs on a team he goes their based on his merit not cause his parents aren’t friendly

These things happen in every club and every club has 1 kid playing lower cause his parents don’t play the hockey politic game.

Yes and what that means is the tier ll Revolution Youth program gets absorbed into the Royals program. The Rev Youth go away and so does their independent tier ll program. They're now DVHL. Almost like what Genesis did last this season it seems to be the new norm.
