Yes it's the Atlantic selects.
The OP has a point. Everyone says our AAA is a joke but the bears and phantoms are doing fine so far. The tier2 kids who think they can hang are getting a quick reality check.

I don't know the rules for entry, but it seems like the team is just playing at the wrong level - should have been AA or even A instead of AA Elites. Still an awesome experience for those kids and hopefully the AHF figures out the right leveling for future years.
P.S. The Hershey team is not all AAA kids, its a mix of T1 and T2 (although most of the T2 kids are jumping to T1 next season).

My kid is on ATL selects. We are struggling for sure - great experience but the hockey is very very humbling.
We are mostly AA kids playing AAA kids and yes there is a big gap in talent and skill and coaching. Hopefully our kids enjoy the experience for what it is and it drives them to be better hockey players.

Are there rules on what level you enter the tournament at? Looks like there's a regular AA and A available

Canadian youth A is often better than many of the aa/aaa us teams. Some of their b teams are better than us aa teams.
