How often is that rule actually enforced?  I see teams violate the 2 Tier 1 player rule all the time.  Specifically the Junior Flyers.  Heard they pay off the orgs for players.

Not very often unless a rink complains. More and more parents are bragging that their kids have been recruited by PHC coaches for 2011, 2012, 2014 and 2015 ages and have spots guaranteed. I am not sure any of these parents are telling the truth. If true there are 5-6 current PHC kids at each age level that will be cut next season. I have watched some of these so called "PHC recruits" play and I can tell you their parents must be smoking something because they have no shot! We will learn the truth in mid-March and early April.

South Jersey is a nuthouse.....

Not just SJ. Norht Jersey, Central Jersey and SE PA are all nuts too. I used to think it was just hockey, then my youngest started progressing up the soccer food chain. Soccer, Baseball, LAX, Basketball, etc are all crazy. What do these sports all have in common? Parents that need to be medicated. Parents ruin everything and think their kid will be the one that makes it. News Flash: 98% of these kids have not shot to play in college!

Seems like the rink everyone dumped on last season in sj is the destination for most players looking to move. They proved they can develop and with talented kids looking to join they should be competitive. Still too many aaa programs in the area. Up north the Woodbridge /gulls situation should be interesting Woodbridge is a solid program, have to hope this doesn’t detract. Mm, jr flyers LF all will swap one or two kids thinking they aren’t going to the exact same mess.

But who exactly has that rink developed in south jersey?

All rinks develop kids. This rink has multiple kids leaving 2011 team for higher ranked teams next season. The kids have been playing for current coach for 2-4 years and some were low A 3 years ago. 2013 & 2015 Kids left last season for LF & PHC had been at rink or with coaches for 3 years. a 2010 kid left this season for PHC and was at rink for 5 years. The 16U THF champs from last season all left for better opportunities at Prep or Juniors. Those kids were at the rink for 5+ years. This rink is like all other rinks. Kids develop, get better and move on to better opportunities. Look at LF. Their teams are mostly kids from other rinks. PHC & JrF mix from their rink and other rinks.  Some rinks like PHC get the better players based off reputation, but look at last years 2011 PHC team. That team split up and this years 2011 PHC team was ranked 96th for all 13U nationally. This is the way youth hockey works. All rinks develop players, lose players and then have to rebuild. This rink is no different and the rebuilds take time.  Also you have no idea who will turn out to be a higher level player until puberty hits. a 10U superstar is a 16U 3rd line player waiting to happen. The best kids at 12U and younger are good because they are bigger than the other kids they are playing against.  Puberty is the great at solving the size/strength issue. Stop hating and enjoy the ride!

Not sure what specific rink you are talking about (doesnt matter), but it is a great point that all rinks go through cycles of being good, rebuilding, etc. just need to make sure you keep in the loop at what is happening, to make the best decision for your kid. Try to see what point in the cycle the team you want to play for, is in.

Good point on 2011 phc. They have the potential to pick up a lot of new kids for next year. if you plan to go there, what is your plan b if you dont make it. If you are on a team like that now, and your kid's spot might not be safe, what is your plan b?

The most burning questions: Will Sal stay at LF?  Will LF want Sal back? Reliable source told me LF are on the fence and are recruiting better players. We will know by third week in March!

This would be great if it were true. 16U team lost 0 players to junior and only 2 to prep school. The rest left for 18U teams at other rinks because BB Academy is a joke. Entire 15U group from academy are looking elsewhere because they got scammed.
