Just a note on the PHC11 cuts, there was zero long term PHC11 kids cut! 4 PHC kids that were cut were all hurricanes last season, they were not long term players. 1 PHC kid was with them for 3 years was leaving for AA anyway and never tried out. 5 or 6 other kids went to other "AAA" teams. 4 PHC/Titans kids did return.

They had 5 or 6 longtime players at 2011. Some as far back as Venom. Don't let the door hit you in the a**. PHC shows great loyalty. NOT!

While I see your concern about "loyalty", you need to dig deeper on it

The last poster just said the long time players werent cut, and some former players returned

If your team is ranked 98th, it is obvious a lot of changes were needed. TB isnt coaching the team to keep the band together.

A better complaint is, "My kid was way better than the kid who has been there for 3+ years. The kid who was there for 3+ years just made it because they are being loyal"

Dont you want a competitive environment where the best kids are making the team, not just being "loyal"?

If your kid isnt on the top line, then there is a threat you wont make the team. The top players probably have "guarantees" to make the team (why wouldnt they).

I know the kids that got cut and they would have been fine on the 4th line. I mean you took 18 skates so having 2 kids and 1 D that have been loyal on your team is a good message to send to younger kids. Since the 4th line will probably get 4 shift a game, I don't think loyalty is too much to ask. By the way, my kid left PHC voluntarily 2 years ago due to this crap being pulled on some of his friends. He will never go back to PHC. He also got a lot better at his new rink, so our opinion is of PHC is not great. Development is not their model. Poaching and rankings is what PHC is all about, especially at Bantam and above. Time will tell if PHC 2011 or 2012 improves their rankings. Best of luck to all the kids.

There were 6 'longtime' PHC players on last year's 2011 team (2+ years) and 3 additional kids rostered on last year's team that left/got cut previously and returned. This season one of them left for prep, one left for AA, and the rest are back.
Why should PHC be loyal to players just because they have been there a long time? If the kids aren't getting better and aren't developing, then they should get cut. It's AAA hockey. Last year every kid got equal playing time because the coaches cared about the kids and their development, with the exception of the PP and PK (and many 3rd liners still got to play on the PP/PK some times). Plenty of opportunity to improve. If they didn't make the cut, then it was warranted.

I know PHC 2011 will improve their ranking this year. They took on some really great players and TB is a great coach.

Do you think the parents at Michael Jordan's JV tryout,  feared  for their kids' pro prospects. Do they grasp their own insignificance now?

Can PHC parents learn from this? Or is this the best thing they have going on in insignificant lives? WEAREPHC! Maybe TB he can train them to drive the Zamboni when they need a job

The 2012's and 2011's have high hopes, for their top 50 and 100 teams.

How.Pathetic.

And the younger ages are even worse !

What’s the peoples choice for tier 2 for 2012 player. Team Philly, junior blue hens, ducks, delco, or nighthawks. Not sure if any of these organizations are worth it but figured I would inquire.
What is worth it mean to you?  The AHF teams will have more varied levels. I’d say on DVHL side the Nighthawks at that age group as they’ve played together for several years and have had others leave Delco/Hens.

So I heard from multiple parents of ex-players on my kids team. They all said another rink promised them a spot on AAA team, then made excuse that more kids showed up to tryouts than they thought and other kids were better. They then tell the parents and kids that they have spot on their AA team, can practice with AAA team on certain days and will have a spot on AAA team next year. My question is why would a kid or parent believe anything this hockey director says after reneging on their promise of a spot on AAA team? I am just baffled by this. The hockey director lied to get you to leave your current AAA team, knowing all along he wants you for the AA team. Everyone knows what rink does this, but I don't blame the rink. I blame the kids and parents for being stupid!

Made up story.

There’s not a director in this region that recruits and offers roster spots for every team in his club. Coaches of each team handle their recruiting.

You know what, you are correct it was the coach of the team. It just so happens that the Director of Hockey Operations is also the coach of the team! Now you know what program I am talking about.
