Representatives may or may not be present at various league, crossover or non-league games, that doesn't mean they won't know what is going on. Technology will play a big part, as Livebarn equipped venues will provide the committee the opportunity to take a peek in at any time to stay apprised.
POWER RANKINGS!The release of power rankings exhibits the most current placement decided collectively by the Flyers cup committee. These rankings are subject to change and by no means should they be presumed permanent, until the final announcement has been made at seasons end. The committee wants to make it clear that this is not an open-ended tournament to any high school team, it is an invitational which encompasses several determining factors for eligibility, of which are also used to form power rankings. High school hockey leagues do not all operate similarly. For instance, the ICSHL plays cross over games which count toward league standings. Whereas the SHSHL runs a combined league/non-league season schedule and only the league games count toward divisional standings. The Flyers Cup committee does not separate or determine what does or doesn't count. Whatever a teams record is, ie crossover, league, non-league combined, that is what the committee goes by, among other factors which determine power rank positioning.
The GoalThe goal of the Flyers Cup tournament is for every player to have a chance to play for his/her school. The committee works tirelessly with surrounding area club programs to ensure there are no conflicts which would prohibit a high school player from missing the opportunity to play in the tournament. For many, this is a one time opportunity and every effort is being made to ensure their chance at participating and being part of such a special and time-honored event and tradition.
