Team Philly is going to use the Campus as additional practice/game ice.

Does anybody have any insight as to WHY the Campus Wild would merge with another club?  From an outside observer, the Wild looked like a fine organization.

What is in it for the Wild?

Heard that TP bought 10 years of ice slots, they will use it for practice and games.

They just want to sell ice and not manage a team

What does the Wild get? A big payday on the backs of Elite Edge. Horrible for everyone in this area. A large amount of families play for the Wild because of Elite Edge practices. There are also many people that avoid Iceline because of their transparent approach of recruiting over development. So it's a double whammy to be bought out by them. You won't see many families excited about playing for Team Philly. This purchase has more to do with Elite Edge's school that is hosted there and competing with them. Add to that fact last season team philly lost a ton of talent to the Wild. If you can't beat them or out develop them, buy them!

Its not about the Wild/DVHL nonsense as it is about the ice time itself.
With the NDL coming up its about securing ice time to support all the teams, leagues, tournaments etc that are out of Iceline.
The JRF girls teams also would like more ice time and I dont know how Graves says no to them, with the strength of their side.

From the Wild perspective they are a newer organization trying to fill teams in an already watered down district. They still sell ice and dont have the headache of trying to fill teams with players and solid coaches that dont exist.

You also have the competitive edge gained by TPH (iceline) vs PHA (Campus) with Iceline securing the rights to ice time at Campus.

NDL won’t require more ice. The rest of your points may be valid but not NDL. And there’s absolutely no guarantee JRF get an NDL charter. They may be telling people this to recruit but it’s a lie.

NDL will be 2 teams 15/17U. Instead of fielding 18,16,15U you’re fielded 2 teams. The need for ice isn’t created by NDL.

Oh well another team out of the dvhl so let’s call it merge to AHF. Money talks.  I am sure many of the wild folks are scared because of the uncertainty of their child’s placement on a team or a dad in the bench.  I just hope it’s an easy process.

I'm a now former Wild parent.  I heard from a connected parent that Elite Edge was trying to triple their prices.  The Wild initially contacted Team Philly or Iceline (not sure what the organizational structure is there) about using Method Hockey for skills training at the Wild and the discussion eventually turned to an acquisition.  An offer was made to the Wild ownership that couldn't be refused and that was that.  Now the ownership of the Campus just rent ice instead of managing an organization.

Method could not have severed ties with Elite Edge without the Wild losing many top players. Since Method ownership turned over a couple years ago it is no longer impressive from a development standpoint. Not equivalent to Elite Edge by anyone’s estimation.

Weeks before the merger, Wild families were surveyed about whether Elite Edge was pivotal to their decision to play for the Wild. So they knew it would not have been a good move for them to part ties with Elite Edge and bring in some organization like Method.

If they could no longer afford to maintain the relationship with Elite Edge, the club would’ve fizzled anyway so no choice but to close and sell.
