Method could not have severed ties with Elite Edge without the Wild losing many top players. Since Method ownership turned over a couple years ago it is no longer impressive from a development standpoint. Not equivalent to Elite Edge by anyone’s estimation.

Weeks before the merger, Wild families were surveyed about whether Elite Edge was pivotal to their decision to play for the Wild. So they knew it would not have been a good move for them to part ties with Elite Edge and bring in some organization like Method.

If they could no longer afford to maintain the relationship with Elite Edge, the club would’ve fizzled anyway so no choice but to close and sell.

First sentence should say “Wild could not have severed ties,” not “Method could not”

Looks like there will be some talent heading over to team phl from the wild.  If I was a wild player I would be pissed about the elite edge stuff.  Method sucks anymore a money grab and not worth it.

Honestly I think everyone's making this bigger than it is.

Stuff is changing all the time in youth hockey these days. Kids still go where they like it and where they think they’re going to get better.

I heard PHA already told their families nothing is changing for them and they’re still working with Elite Edge so it sounds like status quo there. From a couple families I’ve talked to who have seen both setups, it really just comes down to what environment fits your kid better.

At the end of the day kids will end up where they’re developing and enjoying it.
