at what age does size/strength become more of a factor? I’ve seen so many smallish players fall behind just because of lack of size and strength. Dominate mites and can’t keep up at squirt. Won’t score on anyone without strong shots

Pump all this time and money, if your kid is on the smallish end, nothing you can do.

An entire post debating 2 of the biggest liars in youth hockey history.

GG is a good mite coach but does the same drills for kids that are 16. Hollydell was headed to bankruptcy in 2017 under his watch.

JB is an absolute liar who has no role at Hollydell other than coaching 2011 team.

Yes GG, same drills for 16 year olds as mites. The damn NHL does same drills as mites. They are not the only drills NHL or GG run, but it is called drilling the basics. I guess it is better than the crap drills SP runs at the Belles!

Tell that to GG. He did a good job with Johnny and he is 5'9 165. Puberty evens things out. Size means little. 90% is wanting it. Most people give up and dont have the discipline to keep working. These debates are worthless right now. No one knows how good these kids will be until they are 16, 17 or 18. Even then some blossm later. Johnny was 4th round pick, went to BC got better and now is a 6x all star and MVP candidate. Arguing over 7 to 12 year old kids is pointless!

Mites level players and 16U or NHL players do not run the same drills. Ok course basic skills are always good important but it isn’t a one sized fits all approach.

Hollydell is doing just fine without GG and they have a lot of very good coaches and have had kid commit to D1 schools over the last couple years. Nobody is questioning what GG has done in his career but he’s not the only successful coach in the area.

GG stopped giving a shit when his kids got to BC. Anyone that has been around would agree. The rink was a shithole.

GG not only successful coach. But he is most successful. Maybe others will surpass him, but none have yet. Hollydell has good coaches, so do ther rinks. Only difference is other rinks dont act like their sh*t dont stink. But atleast Hollydell has a bar to go with ahole parents! Keep drinking the kool aid. All roads lead to beer league at Hollydell bar!

He’s not the most successful. You just don’t know anyone else. Noel Rubin, Vinny Smith, Dan May, Mark Lotito are just a few examples of coaches who have more commitments. You’re just going by the false narrative that GG is the only coach that developed kids over that last 3 decades. Reality is he ran Hollydell into the ground and only cared about his kids. Ask him why all the 94’s abandoned him at tryouts.

You guys are insane.  Thank God my kids plays at a normal rink in PA with reasonable parents and excellent skills coaches which has translated to success gameday.

I know who GG is, but what has JB done to make everyone say that he is a liar?
