What is going on with the VF Minutemen 18AAA roster!!??  For a month on their website they've had every single other teams roster listed but 18U continues to say "Coming Soon"  what's going on there?
If you don't know by now your son didn't make the team

So is the thought to do away with tier II nationals and just have the best teams?

No.....suggestion is have tier 1 and tier 2 Nationals separately as always with 16 best teams in country in each tier competing. Eliminate teams who should not be competing for a National Championship and only 1 winner at each tier not 3. Let's return the prestige that should be there for making it to Nationals which is gone with current system

Maybe you aren't aware of it. I know I wasn't for awhile. When you go to Nationals, the Nationals tournament itself is subdivided into 3 additional levels.  For example, the National U18AA Tournament has AA#1, AA#2, and AA#3.  The teams are sorted into those three divisions by strength of team.  This year AA#1 was the lowest and AA#3 was the best.  Each of the 3 divisions crowns its own champion and the winners of the 3 divisions do not play against each other. Hence, there are 3 teams this year that can call themselves USA Hockey National Champion at Tier 2 18UAA.  That's what I'd like to eliminate. There should only be 1.

Totally aware...team that won A1 had like 7 wins all season. We agree there should be one AA champion not 3. Cheapens the whole idea of Nationals. If you are an AA team you are an AA team and having 3 brackets  defeats the purpose of a National Champion. Invite the 16 best teams in the country and have a true National Championship.

If the goal is to have one winner then they should do away with tier 1 and 2 altogether and have the best teams compete. it is unlikely though that a tier II team would ever qualify and even more unlikely they would compete.

Why is there 18aa1 18aa2 18aa3 trophies? The point is there should only be the two best teams in the country from 18aa. Oh i forgot everybody gets a trophy.

Be real. Hockey is an incredibly unpopular sport with extraordinary limited opportunities to play nationally. Many of the teams in 1a are the only teams in their state. How is creating a division for those teams any different than having a national championship for tier 2 hockey in the first place?

Big difference. A team that won 7 out of 30 regular season games shouldn't even be invited no less be crowned a National Champion . Again IMO you have the top 16 18uaa teams at each tier compete for 1 Nat Championship at tier 1 and one at tier 2. I have no skin in this discussion as my boys DVHL days are long gone but I remember when the 10 teams at Nationals tier 2 were the best of the best and it was a true National Championship.
