Why? BBNA is growing and getting better. Need FE to feed them!

BBNA is done now. New residency rules at tier 1 will damage their ability to bring in foreigners like they have been to date.

BBNA has very few foreigners at 15U & 16U. 18U had most. They are getting inquiries from all over AAHA so residency won't be an issue. BBNA is not going anywhere!

Don't forget the residency rules will be determined by the Affiliate District and not USA Hockey. If AAHA limits this, BB will just pull out of District and form their own governance. A lot of rink owners will be on board with this as there is no love loss between District/USA Hockey and rink owners. Remember if rinks business model is hurt by these new rules, you will see THF and AHF leagues pull out of AAHA oversight.

Any updates on FE coaches? I heard a lot of additions are coming. Adding coaches at every level with goal of at least 1 non-dad coach on each team. Any truth to this and does anyone know who new coaches will be? I heard 2014 coaching staff are all gone, but not sure if a rumor. I know a lot of 2014 kids that would tryout if old coach is really gone!

You have no idea what is happening.. I am not at FE but 4 2014 at my rink and about 15 kids from other rinks are trying out. I am just shocked parents would think of going to FE. People want the three A's though. Two A's are fine with me though.

I am not at FE/BBNA/Pennsauken. This is the information I was given by contacts:

New residency rules have been suspended at emergency meeting of USA Hockey. Pushback from rink owners forced USA Hockey's hand. Also hearing not a lot of district and rink owners are happy about NDL and may not apply for teams. Remember, rink owners hate USA Hockey and see these changes as pure money grab. USA Hockey lost control to Private Equity and the Academy model. Almost every Tier 1 rink was going Academy route. NDL is USA Hockey way to squash it.   I think rinks with Academy teams will form their own governing body and reject the NDL. Very fluid situation.
