It's disappointing reading the comments on all the different post about its hockey, it's a rite of passage, their just kids let it go. NO, this is unacceptable. The goalie in white was out of hand as well as others. They are lucky no one got hurt. When the goalie steamrollered that kid he hit the ice hard, jumping into a pile with skates on, throwing punches, kicking and more. Did the kid that got steamrolled get checked for a concussion? Where were the ice crew and coaches to stop this? I've never been to mites on ice that didn't have the ice crew out. The fact that these kids are teammates makes me wonder what their practices are like. Not a good look for CPP, the DVHL, AAHA, USA Hockey and the Hershey Bears.

I was at the game and as a hockey parent I was not happy with what I saw. While people around me laughed and some cheered, I was worried about a potential slit wrist, neck, stomach or concussion. The coaches seemed to be laughing as it was going on. I hate to say it but if this was staged as suggested the coaches should be let go and the remainder of the team's season should be forfeited. If it was staged that means the parents were of the players knew and were ok with it. Shame on the coaches, players, parents and the Hershey Bears for not having the ice crew out there like I've seen many times at other mite on ice intermission "games". Some of the kids were there to play hockey and unfortunately may feel the consequences anyway.  CPP was never a class act and now we see it starts at a young age, what a shame.

It was 100% definitely staged.  There was a "fight" the week prior at the Bears intermission also.    The AHL Hershey Bears organization may have been in on the joke.

I get it.  It's objectively funny and cute.  And of course in today's day and age it is going to go viral.

I was very Andy Kauffman-esque  (and I loved Andy).   And I don't think the punishment should be harsh.

But this is something you conjecture about, not something you do.  It was very bad judgement and the kids took it too far.  (they are Mites of course they would take it too far!).

CPP is a classless organization.  A bunch of lunatics. No wonder why hockey gets such a bad name.  I mean staging little kids to fight in public at a stadium. They should disband the entire org.  What a bunch of morons and shame on Hershey bears for not having adults supervise this in between period game.

'It's objectively funny and cute."
"And I don't think the punishment should be harsh."

None of it was funny or cute and the punishment needs to be harsh. Make an example out of them for the next idiot coach and moron parents don't do it in the future.

There is a code of conduct that everyone signs. Our club has their own code of conduct that is signed that every club should have. Simply says when you wear anything with the organization name or logo on you are not just representing the club but the league, district and USA Hockey as well. It don't matter if it's in a rink, school, parking lot, hotel or on social media your actions could lead to consequences.

Problem is that CPP is hanging on by a thread already.  Their org is known to be classless and isn't helped by being one of the last remaining DVHL programs.  They have to be careful of the kind of punishment the dish out.  People can very easily just move over to Lancaster or Palmyra.  This could easily be the end if they don't tread lightly.

ending the mite season a couple months early because of this won't send people to another rink. the reason they go there is because it is the cheapest organization around.
6u / 8u (2017 and younger) $800   Palmyra $1175           Firebirds $975-1990
10u (2015 and 2016) $ 1500            $2300-2600              $2350-2460
12u (2013 and 2014) $ 1600            $2550-2750              $2490-2610
14u (2011 and 2012) $ 1850            $2675-2875              $2570-2700
16u (2009 and 2010) $ 1950            $2995-3195              $2730-2860
18u (2007 and 2008) $ 1950            $2995-3195              $2440-2860
With Genesis going to the AHF it makes districts and nationals easier as well.

I don't mind seeing this the first time.  It  WAS funny and cute.

BUT.....the danger is copycats and overreaction.   Any copycats should be absolutely hammered by punishments.  And I could easily see the NHL, AHL, USAH overreacting by banning / stopping "Mites On Ice".
