When and how are you approaching the origination for discounts on tuition? After tryouts or before? I was told no one pays full prices

ok, so I am not sure if this is a serious post or not. But lets say it is.

It is highly unlikely you will get a discount (unless you have the next Crosby). Not saying don't try. Most orgs will work with you if need be on different payment terms. But reality is, this is not charity work. Its a business. You would have a decent chance of a discount if the team your player is on has over 15 players on it.

I'd argue the opposite that almost everyone pays full price... especially if owned by the big bear.

My kid plays at BB and I never pay full price. We have gotten discounts anywhere from 10% to 50%. My experience is the less players on the team, the bigger the discount. Rinks need players and if they can't fill spots discounts are better than nothing. All you have to do is ask. The worse they can say is no.

Why does the price go up every birth year? It’s the same product from squirt minor $5600 - pee wee major $7600 tier 1 & squirt minor $3200 pee wee major $3995, tier 2. Atleast at the tier 2 level you seem to get “more” for your money.

When I've asked in the past, the response I got was the coaching gets better (or at least it should) and the refs are paid more.  Not sure about the first one, but officials definitely get paid more ~$10 to $15 more per game at each higher level.

You do not get more for your money at Tier 2. Tier 1 offers 3 practices/wk, 1 gym/wk, 1 video/wk and 1 skill/wk. 2-3 Practice Spring slots/wk and 1 4 day/6hr/day training camp. 4 tournaments/showcases (5 at Bantam and above). All this included in tuition. Tier 2 offers 2 practices/wk, 8 skill/year (depending on rink), optional gym (not defined) and 2 tournaments. To get what Tier 1 offers you will pay more ala carte than including it. I price both every year and realize while travel bites in to Tier 1 savings, there is more and more travel every year at Tier 2 especially with AHF. You probably save about $2-3k going Tier 1.

You Cleary do not know what youre talking about.  I have 2 kids, 1 plays top 40 AAA and one plays AA.  1 year apart.  I spent $11,372 more on the tier 1 kid this year.  That even takes into account the coaches AA stipend for travel/hotels.

There were multiple flights for AAA that had i bought ahead of time could have saved me another grand but to compare the two is ridiculous.

Also, discounts do exist.  You just need leverage and to read a situation.  If the AAA team is desperate because kids are leaving you can save up to 50%.  They will just take a lesser kid and make him pay full tuition to offset, its why they now allow tier 1 rosters to have 20+2 skaters.
