I don’t understand why everyone is having a hard time adjusting to change.  Things are different this year.  It will be 4v4 with no checking and no inter-state travel until we start acting responsibly towards each other.  Why is that so hard to contemplate and accept that that is what needs to be done?

Agree...but DVHL is under AAHA who is under USA Hockey.  Neither one will approve DVHL to defy governor due to liability issue. Love or hate Wolf, it’s up to him.

I agree, let's shut everything down until Covid-19 is eradicated from the earth.

Apparently you haven’t read the cdc’s last statement. COVID 19 is here to stay... this will be a yearly vaccine like the flu... they will never be able to get rid of it as it modifies

Why is their even arguments here, the rinks and clubs are doing what they want to do already. Games are being played with full lineups and livebarn is being shutoff for the games. It’s been happening for weeks.

I would accept it if you can explain how it is safer for 10 kids to remain in a small locker room then be dispersed throughout the rink. Potentially stretch the bench and put seats to the sides. Keep them by another entrance door to swap in.

In my opinion there are much better ways to protect the kids than keep 10 in a locker room.

Seems like there is one guy on here that enjoys acting like a d!ck and then patting himself on the back for being a d!ck.

This is a youth hockey forum, most, not all, people want to see games.

Let's pick apart your points "I was fine with it when it didn't impact me directly"-everyone was directly impacted. The shut down was to flatten the curve and assess the situation.

"Youth hockey is an essential service, like grocery shopping"- is that where we are still at? Only essential services? Funny, casinos are essential? How about gyms? Movie theaters? If you are going to be a derogatory ass at least base it on current information.

You can at least be intelligent enough to make a legitimate argument.

There are two sides to this argument. The let them play side is wondering why it is safer to sit in a casino at 50% rather than an ice rink at let's say 25%. They are wondering why we are protecting kids from each other that have been in close contact all week. Why is jamming all spectators in a bar safer than having them spread out in the rink?

For these, there are no answers.

This is a youth hockey forum?  I thought we came here to complain about casinos and claim that a global pandemic is a conspiracy to influence an election.  You people are so dumb it's exhausting.

It's kiddie sports.  It's just for fun.  And yet you people spend all day on here red-assed that you have to make some mild concessions for one season.  Stop making this about yourselves, and how you can't enjoy Skippy's game if you're not there to coach him from the stands.  And if Skippy is crying about having to sit in the locker, well congrats you've raised a kid as soft as you.

Why are we waiting to see what happens in Pittsburgh?  Why aren’t we working together as 1 hockey community in Pennsylvania and approach the government with a unified position?  Why fragment when our desired outcome is the same?  Strength in numbers!

Enough with the name calling. It is one guy who seems only interested in calling people out for wanting to allow their kids to play, grow up.

A typical rink size is 250' x 125' which is 31250 square feet. It is crazy to say that 50 people (625 square feet per person on average) cant be in a rink at once. They want to have 5 kids and 1 goalie on the ice per team w/ 4 kids on bench for distancing purposes. Why would it matter if you are 6' apart on bench but probably 6 inches away from each other on ice. If anyone who was willing to listen from the governors office they would quickly realize that every situation is different that the other. If you think this is anything other than political that you are probably a relative of Wolf. If this holds up, whats the point of playing, should just wait until January and play thru April. Total waste of money to do what they are suggesting.

I have to agree with the last reply. I would rather just push to January and try to play a full normal season from January to April if possible. These hybrids: 4 vs 4, 3 vs 3 are all ridiculous. How many people honestly want to drive 2 hours to not even be able to watch and potentially not even have their kid play. How many kids want to do that? It's all about the rinks and clubs making money at this point. You can't even watch on livebarn because the rinks are shutting it off to make sure they don't get caught. It's crazy. Most of all the SEPA Fall Sports are postponed or canceled. This is all blows and I can't stand the Governor or his rationale on a lot of things, but why risk it all not complying and just come up with a solid alternative for the true winter season rather than half assing it so the rinks and clubs can make their money.
