Sure, you did😉😉. Wrote how you truly think of tier2. It's all good, no worries. So, if your team ever goes to Western Pa post it on here. If I see it and we are able I'd love to see what great friendship on ice looks like.

What age are these two teams and what level? We know one is AAA; I'm guessing AA for the Western Pa team. Could there be a game to be in the making?

This past season 15AA, next year 16AA. This past season the team played 7 games against AAA teams going 2-4-1 with 2 of the 4L by a 1 goal deficit. The only AAA team that they really couldn't hang with was the one from our own club, beating our boys twice 5-2 & 5-1. I know we don't travel to play AAA teams. One game was in a tournament; we hosted the others on weekends they would travel to play our AAA team. We always check our AAA teams schedule and if possible, we offer the away team a slot against us that weekend as well.

That's not a bad idea, gets your AA team some better competition. I'm kind of surprised that AAA teams would want to play down though. Looks like the AAA a parent on here isn't interested in a possible game or can't make that decision. They could have at least given the teams age though.

We were turned down more than not. If every team accepted the game, we would have played 16/17 games against AAA teams. We made the offers to 14/15/16AAA teams. We did the same thing at 14AA (13/14/15AAA) and only 3 teams took us up on it, hoping we can get some at 16AA this year. The offer will be made to 15/16/18AAA teams.

Why would aaa teams play aa it’s lose, lose. If they win they were supposed to and their rankings come down, if they lose then it’s delegitimization and their rankings drop. If your aa team is that good enter all aaa tournaments and take it out of the clubs hands to accept or decline your offer.

It's free ice as we pay for everything. It does nothing to their standings because it is nonleague, and scoresheets are only turned in if a suspension worthy event happens. We have not needed to submit one yet. 4 of the 7 games were against 14AAA, 1 was 15AAA and 2 games against 16AAA, the 16AAA is from our organization. Most of the rejections came from 15 and 16AAA teams.
The better question is why AAA would play down to AA in tournaments. What I have talked about is just what we have hosted. We played in 2 tournaments this yr that had AAA and AA teams in it, we went 1-0-1 against those AAA teams. We tried to go in 1 tournament that all AAA teams but got turned down.

1. How does your rink have that many ice slots available for the team to get that many extra slots?
2. The team host the games at no charge to the opponent. 16/17 extra sheets that could of been games the team would be looking at another $700 a player. Take that money and go into more tournaments.
3. Why doesn't the team play AAA instead of AA?

1. Pittsburgh is a big city with a lot of rinks. We get sheets at different rinks.
2. My combined income with my wife is $83/hr and we are the low income family on the team. We do 4 tournaments. Any unused slots we book gets sold back to the rink or we hold a public skate to get the fees back and sometimes a little extra. We get the fee for the skate and the rink gets the skate rental fee.
3. The organization won't allow 2 AAA teams at the same age.
