if black bear really cares about hockey in general they will stop raising the price of everything its been out of control for some time now and they are making in even worse no way it should cost 7k for a season of youth hockey that's actually insane they will drive kids away from the sport no doubt and will definitely impact the numbers long term , if they would keep the cost down they will make up the difference with more kids signing up , lots of talent will be ran out of the sport the way its going

My kids play in the AHF at a NON BB rink and our fees were only $300 less than the closest BB rink to us and we got ZERO tournaments included. We did 3 tournaments that added almost another $500. Hockey is not a cheap sport, never was. Do you think rink owners will run their rink at a lose for it's more affordable? Inflation hit everyone hard and BB came around the same time as covid and Bidenomics. Our fees have raised a minimum of $100 every year since he went in office, periodically before that. Rinks can't get employees for $7-8 an hour like they did before covid when they can work at Rutters for $15. This is a case of cause and effect. As the cost of operating a rink goes up so does that ice slot, just like food at my favorite restaurant did. You have to make tough choices in life and if you really want keep your kids in hockey you find away. For us it was giving up our seasonal campsite and only camping a couple times over the summer. It was worth it to keep them playing and when they are done we will look into seasonal camping again.

. im not talking about a $100 increase we are talking about increase of almost 40% in some cases that's not inflation that's greed period one rink is 2k one rink is 4k and that's tier 2 ,same amount of ice tourneys etc . that's just plain greed , and the tournaments / showcases that are owned by the same company that gets kickback from stay to plays , etc .

Lets compare 3 clubs in PA at 18A 1BB, 1AHF non BB and 1 dvhl.
Palmyra $2995 /  includes 2 tournaments
Delco Phantoms $2875 /  includes 2 tournaments or EJ
Lehigh Valley Phantoms Youth $2850 / 0 tournaments included

Now 2 New Jersey teams
Flyers youth 23/24 16A fees $3900 duel league EJ/NJ - sure it will increase some
Igloo Jaguars 24/25 16A fees $4695 includes 2 tournaments

Now 2 Delaware
Delaware Ducks 24/25 Midget A $2600 AA $3090
Jr Blue Hens 20/21 season all I could find midget A $1800- sure it went up since then

Not really seeing the huge difference that you are claiming, please give examples

I love when people make comments and someone else does a little research and calls them on their apparent bs. This poster did some research and now crickets from the person he commented to. I was actually looking forward to proof of his claims about the fees. I was shocked to see the numbers posted, I thought a much bigger gap would be between the leagues.
I wonder if the poster that put the fees is the same poster that compared the leagues when someone said about competition? Someone has some free time on their hands. Either way thanks for the info.

Younger ages - 12U & 10U prices are tougher to find. BB publishes and they are very high compared to last years prices and Hollydell and Flyers Youth pricing. All tournaments for BB are Defender, which BB owns and you play the same teams you play during regular season. I understand raising prices but BB is 20-30% higher than last season, which were 20-30% higher than season before. Non-BB rinks are raising prices but maybe 10%. BB is gouging!!!!!

Unions are what is killing our country already so I am not going to join a Union of whining, privileged hockey parents. If you do not like it, get involved in the rink board or the league, otherwise find other options. I've been a parent and coach in this area for over 10 years. The AHF is heads and shoulders above the DVHL.

2024-2025 GHC COACHES
 PAYMENT SCHEDULE
Genesis offers a payment schedule to its membership. There is a $50.00  deposit due at the time of player agreement registration, the remaining balance is divided into six (6) payments.

The Tryout/Evaluation fee of $75.00 is NON-REFUNDABLE and is not part of the Ice Fees or the payment schedule.

Wintersport Royals
8U $1525
Sq. A & B $2795  PURE AA $2995
PW A & B $2995  Pure AA $2445
Bantam A & B $3295  Pure AA $3745

For A & B the prices are real close, it's the pure AA you see more of a difference and part of that is they play more games equal more cost for ice.
