Keep you eye on the prize. Do you want you kid good now or at 17-18 when it matters. Marathon, not sprint! Stop all this BS with Brick, PWQ and spring/summer teams. Get off the ice, be an athlete, get stronger, work on shot, stick handling, passing and develop your game. These tournament teams mean ZERO!

You always have the Austria program.  They took AA players last year.  Another meaningless money grab.  The district operates with characteristics strikingly similar to a Ponzi scheme - relying on constant recruitment, inflated costs, and unfulfilled promises of advancement to sustain itself.

Tryouts, camp invites, and tournament selection are often structured to feel like a once-in-a lifetime opportunities, driving FOMO-based spending.  Parents feel like they must invest now or risk missing out - even when the path is unclear.  You are being manipulated on urgency and exclusivity to trigger irrational investment behavior.

What's insane is we keep giving them our hard earned money despite little transparency about where the money goes, how player evaluations work, or what outcomes are realistic. I had enough!

Puberty is the great equalizer! Most kids on PWQ team will not play after 16 years old. 98% won't play in college now since Canadian Junior players are now eligible. Less than .8% of youth kids play professionally. Not NHL, but all professional leagues. All these teams are BS! If your kid is between 8-12, that is the prime time to develop their overall athleticism. Yes they need to be on the ice to learn to skate, but they need as much time off the ice to become an athlete. Being on the ice and not playing other sports is damaging your kids chances to play at a higher level. My 12 year old son has played 3 organized sports since he was 4 years old. He also plays basketball, tennis and swim team. He is the 5th best player on his hockey team, but is by far the best athlete. His coach told me out of all the kids on the team, he has the most potential, even though he is not the best skater or scorer right now. His coach played D1 hockey and professionally in Europe, so he has knowledge. Parents need to wake up and realize the better the athlete the better chance to succeed once puberty hits! Get off the ice, stop joining these ridiculous tournament teams and develop your child the right way. All other sports help with hockey and make your child a better player, but more importantly, a better athlete.

Why is Canada consider a prime location for ice hockey? Because that's all they do. Spring, summer, winter. In season/off season hockey is all they want to do because they love it. Let's stop the nonsense people say oh your kid should play other sports. People say that because they are clueless. Some kids love certain sports. They would rather play hockey in the spring other than baseball or lacrosse. If they want to do it without being pushed who am I to say no you need to play boring ass baseball and I'll go bake in the sun while you're miserable because someone said on social media that will make you a better athlete. So many damn experts out there. I'll tell you something else if your kid is good enough to play against the top kids in the world it's awesome hockey. So good day to you all and I'll enjoy my time on these top tournament teams while you bake in the sun and fall asleep watching baseball.

The best Canadian players play other sports until they hit 15-16. Yes hockey is their main sport but they play soccer, lacrosse, baseball tennis and more. Same as best Russian and European players. You know nothing!

100% correct. 99% of NHL and College players were multi-sport athletes that focused only on hockey around age 14-15. The guy posting about Canadians must be a PHC parent. Everyone knows PHC parents are not very intelligent.

Maybe it is someone who is a former PHC parent posting all this great knowledge as well. We know that PHC is the elite developmental program in the mid Atlantic.  Hence why peewee Quebec is made up with them.

When and where do they post these elite rosters so they can show off what the teams are made?

Looks like they trimmed some kids off the peewee Hershey roster.  This is like the never ending money grab evaluation.  For those still alive in the evaluation process good job and good luck. But it seems no one is safe.
