Goalie parents are the worst to run the scoreboard. We had several goalie parents that would add shots to boost their kids stats. Literally if a shot missed the net they counted it as a shot. Had to explain many times that a shot only counts if it goes in or hits the goalie. Hitting the post and crossbars don’t count. LOL
Seriously, for years our one goalie's dad ran the clock for us every home game. and would count shots. As the scorekeeper we would try to add a save and he would correct us, no matter who was in net. He would say no that was wide or high and that hitting the bars isn't a shot. Boy, do we miss them, the dad made it easy for everyone.

The worse is a defenseman's parent. We had a team manager who didn't count shots properly on purpose. Shot totals were always 7-10 shots lower on our own goalies and 10-15 shots higher on the away team's goalie then what they should have been. He felt high shot totals made a defense look bad. He wouldn't allow anyone else to do or see the ipad.

Never question those that volunteer, say thank you and be quiet.

This must be for Rev at 11u. Heard a secondary assist is put in system even if ref only gave 1 assist. Every forward on the ice gets an assist. They pad their stats big time!
