Just a quick note about the rules for high school in SEPA.  While most play USA Hockey rulebook, there are teams that play NFHS or NCAA.  While all the rulebooks have tightened standard over the last few years, there are still differences in how checking is treated in each book.  Club hockey in the area uses USA hockey and it is the most strict.  The other have some leeway in finishing checks.

Have no fear for as they get older and play in college in does not change. The only difference is that they have 3 officials on the ice to turn a blinds eye instead of 2.

Agreed, I went to a game the other weekend that honored vets which included my brother-in-law. PSA was throwing high elbows on checks the entire game with no call and KU got called for ticky-tack things that I would not have called. It was a good game until the one official decided to control the outcome. As they let PSA get away with more & more you could see the KU players getting frustrated and more careless. I talked to that official after the game, and you could tell he had a dislike for that team. I have never officiated a KU game. A friend of mine has and he confirmed that some officials are harder on them than others for some reason. We as officials cannot in anyway carry things over from past games or seasons no matter what level or reason.

Not the game or teams I was talking about. I do love when my son's team plays KU though, assuming it's the KU I'm thinking of. I know before the game even starts we have the advantage with the refs on the ice. It's almost like they are baiting the KU players to do stupid crap. Been that way for the past 3yrs he has played them.

Pretty sure it's the KU team, they have heck of a football program. Not a KU football fan but always root for a somewhat close school, so go Bears

Yup, talking about the same KU team. You are correct, their football team is doing awesome. Maybe Penn State should go after their coach and some of the players.
