A Night Not To Remember For Knights Icemen

COLMAR, PA - This was one of those games where the players and coaches wish for a delete button in their mind to erase the memory forever, as it wasn't the Knight's night. Neshaminy took charge from the opening faceoff until the end of the game, and while the final score and total shots would leave one to believe it was much closer, the Skins controlled every second of each period.
If the audience didn't know any better it appeared the Knight's skaters were playing against two teams simultaneously, the Skins and themselves. North Penn turned over the puck relentlessly over the course of the game, both forced and unforced. However, it was the unforced turnovers that cost them the game. Unpressured dishes to nobody, throwaway bump passes in their own zone to the other team on the breakout, and errant passes seemed to plague the Knights providing them no opportunity to rein the game in to regroup and maintain any semblance of control.
Like any sport, "things" happen, take your lumps, regroup and move on, come back stronger the next game with the knowledge gained from last.
Ryan Dematteo scored the first goal of the game on a powerplay off of a deflection by Jack Halloran inside the Knights blue line. The first period ended with the Skins ahead and two shot advantage 10-8. Danny McColgan scored fifty-seven seconds into the second period to put the Skins ahead by two and the period ended with Neshaminy holding onto a 2-0 lead and a 15-13 shot advantage. North Penn was unable to produce any offensive threats on net beyond the Skins outside perimeter throughout the game. Neshaminy added two more goals to close out the game 4-0 and ending with a 31-19 shot advantage.
