Rumor is 1-2 more of the big DVHL clubs are jumping ship to the AHF as well.

If Genesis and/or Delco goes AHF, I don’t see how the Dvhl survives.  Other teams will be left to either join or be tournament teams.  Personally, I know I’m not keen on the extra cost and the prospect of having to drive to NJ from the west end of the Ahf territory often.  28 games, 3 mandatory showcases, and a mandatory midsummer placement showcase?  I can’t say I enthusiastic about all that.  This going to force families that aren’t hard core out.  How is that good for development of youth hockey?  Athletic kids will find cheaper, more local sports to play.  It’s all about the money now.  How many parents can we sell the dream of their kid being the next best thing?

still will travel to LV and Wilk/Scranton. depending on division you will still have the Rebels and Jr Pens. I believe its the Phantoms and Jr Knights going AHF from those areas.

Seems like this makes a lot of sense for S. Jersey teams - less travel and don't have to deal with all the traffic up north.  DVHL should survive at A & B - AA might be an issue as a lot of very good AA teams are now gone.

NJYHL does look like it came out better in this, kept some established clubs -- NJ Cols, Montclair, Brick, Ramapo, Red Bank

Those are core clubs of the league for many years, a positive for NJYHL?

The number of games doesn't bother me. My son has always been on teams that try to play 45-60+ a year. It is the mandatory showcases that are the issue. If they are just made up of teams from the league, then you are just playing the same teams over and over again. Plus, you aren't left with many free weekends if you wanted to go to like Pittsburgh or New England to play a non-AHF tournament.
The travel distance for York, Cap City and Palmyra to like AC is brutal, but since showcases count as part of the league schedule, hopefully they can set it up where you are playing these teams at a showcase instead of a one-off game. Like, don't have York play Cap City in a showcase, have them play AC, Hollydell and Jags.

Our club is going AHF. Hoping the pre-season seeding showcase works well.

Won't miss DVHL division placement. Some Very Fine Clubs always seem to end up at the top of their divisions.

I really hope AHF gets the seeding right because if its anything like this season its going to go straight down the toilet fast. Teams winning games with blowout football scores in the teens regularly with the opponent averaging a single goal per game is not a recipe for success.
