Those that play U14 and up might not have much of a choice.  The DVHL won’t have many upper level teams left especially at the AA levels.

I heard a Genesis parent tell their AA team would play EJ as the DVHL would only have 3 teams.

Problem will be EJ will be severely changed as well.  Most BB teams won’t be playing EJ so get used to playing NY teams because that’s all that’s left.

Listen you are going to get the same kind of hockey playing in the AHF as you did in the DVHL. Nobody is going to the NHL so take what you can get. Either you pay more now or later depending how old your kid is because in the end AHF will take over entirely and the DVHL and NJ will disappear and so will EJ. You will eventually have to give in either way. So if you save a buck now in a nother year or two your kid is going to be playing AHF.

NJYHL and DVHL are sanctioned leagues by the district.  Which means their teams go to the district tournaments. AHF clubs are independent.  independent teams receive one invite for each level to the district tournaments for the opportunity to go to national tournament.  tougher path for independent teams.

Genesis is putting out those rumors about PA teams all playing each other.  Just not true.  If DVHL doesn't have enough AA teams, then the format will be very different than the past.  No one will know until tryouts

I don't have a child in the program and coach at a nearby rink and don't mind a little travel.  As a remaining DVHL club I don't want to travel up and down the Mid Atlantic region so I may sit the year out or look for other coaching opportunities

I don't know DV but my kids played AHF in NJ this year. AHF was very tough league and it was only 16 games. The quality of play is very good and I imagine NJYHL & DVHL will eventually fold. The AA Squirt and Advanced Mite teams were crazy good. The top SqAA teams could beat 75% of AAA teams in the Atlantic. AHF is the future and will have the power due to BB.

When the DVHL had only a few AA teams at a level in the past, they cross-scheduled with the A National division. Could be the solution for next season too.

This allows teams to feed into the appropriate district tournament.

As long as they have competent people who can get stats right, screwing up goalie stats at midget is unacceptable

You could always volunteer to handle score keeping and stats for your team.  Everybody knows that goalie parents are the best at stats, especially for their own kids.
