This is the issue with hockey- PARENTS! The kids just want to have fun and get better, but the parents want little Joey to play in the NHL. NOT GONNA HAPPEN! Get your kid off the ice and into other sports, they will then enjoy hockey more and have a better shot at playing at the next level. If not burnout will occur and all your money and dreams will be sitting in the crappy medals your kid got for winning some irrelevant summer tournament. LOSERS!!!!1

My boys and I met Scott Hartnell in 2011 and got his autograph and pictures. I asked him, “What 1 piece of advice could you give my sons about their hockey careers?” Hartnell turned to my boys and said, “Have fun. Always challenge yourself and try to play at a higher level, but only as long as it remains fun.”
