In a game which a mom from York got kicked out of the rink 5 minutes after the opening face off for yelling at refs, a dad from York gave my 6 year old daughter the finger.

GRUNDY, watched the 18U senior night and it was a physical game with probably the worse refs I've seen. The visiting team had a player go down hard into the boards, a penalty was called. As the player was down screaming in pain the parents and friends of Grundy cheered the hit. Even has he left the ice with what looked like a shoulder injury some were still making comments. I watched that player leave the rink early in obvious pain, hope he is ok but doubtful. The Grundy players weren't any better throughout the game and I'm 2nd guessing letting my little one continue their program. When we entered my son into their beginner program and talking to his instructors I thought they would be a better organization. After watching a couple games I'd say the actual coaches, parents and players lack class and sportsmanship.

First off...I don't have any ties to Hollydell whatsoever. 2nd, I can't agree with the "every hollydell hurricanes team". Every rink has their select parents or teams so you can't merge the entire org in one. 


I don't even know why this post is a thing other than trying to get people all chippy towards one another.

We are all keyboard gangsters, that is what makes a lot of these posts entertaining. But there are hints of truth in some of these replies among the boards that can help all of us better make decisions.

And also see that you can talk to 5 people from the same rink/team and everyone will say something different. Important to know all the good things (and bad things) about stuff

Palmyra coaches are getting lambasted on FaceBook:

"Witnessed a U12A coach yell and tell his team to “take that kid out”, because our player was bigger than them. You should be ashamed of yourself but I guess I am not really surprised after watching one of your players scream and curse while serving a penalty and then that same kid said “f you” to all of our kids after the game during the line up. That coach and that child’s parent should be very proud."

"Palmyra vs LV Phantoms 12A game yesterday. Pretty pathetic to have a coach act that way. Also pretty pathetic to see how his players behaved (not all). But what can we expect when the coach behaves the same way. We should have known at the start of the game when two of our players went to shake the Palmyra coaches hand and that coach refused to even acknowledge our kids. Personally I would have loved to see them try to “take out” my son. Along with all their other antics on the ice yesterday."

How about 10% of all parents at every rink. 90% of parents are very nice. It is the crazy, "my kid is the best" moms and dads that give ice hockey a bad name.
