Tournaments

Any one else tired of going sh*tty tournaments? Parents act like idiots when we win against low level teams.  Beating teams by 7 and 9 goals is not fun for either team. No purpose served except moron parents brag about little Johnny. I pay over $5k for my son to get better and play good teams, not sandbag at a tournament that costs extra. Finally leaving after season.

We’re complaining about winning now? This is getting hard to keep up with.
Don’t forget to kick the dog.

Winning is 1 thing but destroying teams is another. Competetive games is where kids get better. Not blowouts!

Won championship 11-2. Another 9 goal victory. Way to go coach! Great tournament over teams that belong at B level. I am done!

In my kids last season of travel our manager did the opposite. We were a mid-bottom 18A team and she put us in a AA tournament. The team found out what she did the day before our 4+ hr drive to the tournament. If it weren't for our 2 goalies, we would have been blowout. The one goalie gave up 4 goals on 89 shots in 2 games (tied 2-2 & lost 2-1), and the other goalie gave up 7 goals on 76 shots in 2 games (lost 6-0 & won 6-1). Our team had 83 shots total in all 4 games (31 in our win). Our one win came against a team that is AA because their league didn't have an A division.
To me it's on tournaments to make fair brackets. It's not hard to figure out what teams are playing and what their MHR is to try and balance it out.

don't go then, let your kids miss out on being with the team. To me that is what tournaments are truly about. I hate local tournaments with no hotel stays and team dinners. People cry just to cry
