Author Topic: Philadelphia Revolution officially granted Tier 1 status  (Read 17497 times)

Description:

Philadelphia, PA -- The Philadelphia Revolution are proud to announce that they have officially been granted Tier I status for the Revolution Elite Program for the 2020- 21 hockey season.

The Revolution, in conjunction with USA Hockey and the Atlantic District, are excited to welcome teams at the U15, U14, U12 and U10 Levels. Team President and General Manager Chris Kanaly, who is in his 11th year with the club had this to say, “We have been developing players at the highest levels for over a decade now. What we do is no secret. We have produced NHL draft picks and NCAA players year after year as an independent program in this district.

"It’s great to see USA Hockey and most importantly the Atlantic District recognize our hard work and dedication to youth hockey.”

Indeed it is an exciting time to be a part of the Philadelphia Revolution.

Since being acquired last February by Black Bear Sports Group, the Revolution have sold its EHL Junior franchises and will continue to focus on Youth Player Development.

“We are now positioned perfectly to focus our time developing players for the Junior and NCAA ranks," said Kanaly. "We have a seamless transition from the Revolution Elite to the NAHL (Maryland Black Bears) and the USHL (Youngstown Phantoms). This Elite Hockey model will make the Revolution the preeminent club in the Philadelphia Region.”

With Tier I, AAA Hockey teams from Squirt through U15, the Revolution will look to continue their growth in the Philadelphia marketplace.

Additionally, Kanaly touched on how special the coaching staff is in Philadelphia.

“The group of men that we have here in Philly leading this program are second to none," said Kanaly.

"We have had a storied history of great coaches come to our program. Our group is the best at developing players and giving these kids the right opportunities for advancement and NCAA placement!”

The Atlantic district continues to water down Tier 1.  This is a huge money grab.  The rates will go up and more AA and A players now will play in what used to be an elite league.  Truly sad that the Atlantic district is asleep at the wheel.  But hey they like the money.

So true! Can there be a more watered down district in all of USA Hockey? I think not.

Would be a total slap in the face if they end up taking all that money and continue offering mediocre free/low cost parent coaching.

“We are now positioned perfectly to focus our time developing players for the Junior and NCAA ranks,"
INTERPRETATION: we have an avenue to funnel you schmucks from paying $5k to paying $15k+.

They should make "AAAA" and raise the price... watch how many dream chasers will flock to that.

Incredible, a program that can't keep a quality 16AA team together for an entire season is granted Tier 1 status. Go ask the folks that run the EJ about the problems caused by the Rev this season. A shakeup is needed on the board of the Atlantic District.

Palmyra Black Knights went tier 1 2 years ago.  The quality of all teams now suffering.  Tier 1 has A and AA players because couldn’t get enough AAA caliber players. Play in USPHL which nobody takes seriously.  No quality reasonable team will play them because low hockey rankings.  Tier 2 took a backseat and players forced to play at higher levels at all age groups = disaster. Win about 1/3 of games and lose 2/3.  A shame...

Parents do your homework on the Revolution! They charge big money for terrible ice and a more of a tier 2 program.  Each year prices have been high but nothing at rink gets improved.  The parking lot got paved, that’s been it.  It seems to be that they just want your money!   Plenty of other good organizations around that charge less.  And now they roped the Royals to play there.  I can’t wait to see the dues they will charge them.  Sad that youth hockey is becoming a huge money grab!!!!
