pro quarantine families stay home!
Topic: July 17, 2020, 11:33:43 AM
Im not looking to put anybody down but theres 2 sides to letting the kids play.

The ones who want their kids to play but are extremely afraid of the kids getting covid or themselves getting it. Its my opinion and its just an opinion to please save your money and stay home then theres no chance for either the child or family members gettting it. It sucks to have to make the decision to not play but keeping in line with your believe you will save yourselves any chance of getting sick.

Then theres the ones who are ready to move forward and theyve monitored and kept up with the daily results of virus cases and deaths. The cases are climbing because the cdc counts all results as postive no matter what the result is. Thats not believable because saying somebody is probable is redundant. Anybody can be infected with any virus disease or sickness any time but if theyre result isnt positive now thats obviously negative and should be reported that way. Covid is not the only disease on the planet because anybody can get anything no matter who they are. We cannot stay quarantined forever you have to be exposed to germs in order to make immunities. For those of us ready to accept that we are the ones who are ready to go ahead and move forward. Accept that you have to be exposed and move forward but by all means if theres people on the family who are already with bad immuned systems STAY HOME!

Why don't you take this BS back to facebook.  We all understand how excited you are to watch your little bender fall up and down the ice.

There's always going to be 2 sides no matter what. I do agree with the OP, if there are parents who don't want their kid mixing with out of state players, stay home or instead choose in house hockey where there's no travel. I agree with both sides so don't slay me please.

Once again...I'll say it louder for those in the back that can't seem to get it...it's not about you!

Wear mask, stay 6 ft away, follow rules and guidelines without trying to sneak around like a teenager.

It's people like you that are making this last longer and longer and longer.

I don't know when our society moved from listening to scientists, doctors, and medical professionals to listening to reality stars but people truly need to grow up.

Get your priorities straight. Youth sports are not that important.

We can disagree without being rude to each other.  Personally, I look at the stats and see that in my county, 0.008% of people outside of nursing homes have tested positive for Covid.  That's assuming some of those positive tests aren't counting multiple positives on one patient as they progress through recovery.

Our chances of getting this thing are pretty slim with reasonable protective measures.  I'm not going to hotspots like NY/NJ, but I see no reason to hold my son out of hockey within PA.  Yes, there is a slight chance he'll get Covid and have permanent lung damage like a handful of other kids around the country.  But he could also be seriously injured in a car accident going there or get a serious concussion playing the game.  Life isn't without risk.  Some people have evaluated that risk to be low for their situation.  Some believe otherwise.  Everyone unique circumstances and tolerance for risk creates a situation where everyone needs to decide for themselves what is best.

Here's an original thought - you're a selfish prick with no sense of social responsibility or empathy, and more than likely a lousy parent.

The fact that youth hockey is this important to you probably points to a massive hole in your life.  A year of less or no travel isn't going to change the fact that your kid isn't getting a scholarship.  Take a breath, remember you're talking about children playing sports.
