Cost of Hockey

I am convinced that you can only advance in Hockey if you have the money to do so or if you refinance your house or max out your credit cards to pay for it especially at the AAA level. It is just way to expensive. Equipment, club, private sessions, spring/summer Hockey, travel, hotels, Gas etc I do not know how people play with few kids can do it. When is they price going to go down?

lack of community rinks (i.e. Minn, Mass, etc) and letting any teams be called AAA in Atlantic District (looking at you Whalers, Titans, Devils (last good back in 2000), Saints, Phantoms, Generals, 87's, Flyers Elite, W-B)

imagine 6 Tier 1 teams in Atlantic League (like it was in it's glory years) - Caps, Colonials, Jr Flyers, Avs, Gulls, Chiefs/Lil Flyers/PHC (you choose) -- all that talent pushed down to Tier 2 would be immense

it is in the interest of these Rink owned clubs to call themselves AAA, fear of missing out

It's 20% about hockey and 80% about business.

You have to find the right AA club to get the most for your money where your kid can develop. 95% of AAA is a waste of money locally.

Exactly.

AAA teams: look at all the AAA teams a 2 hour drive from where you are now. If you arent top 10 in that grouping, why are you still spending thousands on these out of town tournaments to lose some more. You can do that and be back home the same night

Spend the time and $ on developing your team.
