Igloo prices only going up. Bad situation since TF left and not worth the money for the ice time. Too many teams (Jags, college, high school, middle school), too much figure skating and only 2 sheets. Shorted skills sessions and substituted for skills competitions. Not what I paid for. BB needs to take a hard look at Igloo- best players jumping ship, but for another BB rink, so nothing will change. Only other rink losing talent faster is Voorhees- but that is a longer conversation.
the learn to skate and figure skating programs bring in almost the same revenue as the hockey programs and have no impact on the hockey programs all of the figure skating is done before hockey practices even start , lose the middle school and some of the "skills" and you have more ice time open just a thought

Yeah figure skating takes up an the entire until 530 at night M-Tr. Private sessions with coaches are in blue rink, but not every day. Some coaches go to other rinks for private lessons because ice time is not available at Igloo. Skills sessions are non existent. Not sure about your figures on learn to skate/play= to hockey. If you include all college, high school, middle school, jaguars and men's league the revenue is much higher. Igloo ruined this year by bringing in extra revenue from middle school teams. That killed ice time. Best players at 2011 and younger leaving because ice time is limited. Igloo will have a dearth of talent next year and only have themselves to blame!

DVHL / EJ were 36 games combined. I think it was $1,700 + $350, either way under $2500.

We've played 50 games so far between DVHL regular season, showcases, tourns and nl's. We still have 2 more tourns and a few nhl's. It'll be 64 games when they're done.

If that is true at some rink then come to Genesis.   It cost $2400 and we got 44 EJ\DVHL games plus 2 non league spots that we tuned into 2 away games also.  That's 48 games before any tournaments or non league games.   To be honest for the age (16U) I think it was too many games.  But got great value for the money for sure.

Igloo cheated us this year. Nickel and dimed us to death. Shorted us a tournament. No bi-weekly skills, no training camp. Once TF left things changed and will never be the same under BF.

I think BB paid too much for Igloo and now raising rates to recoup overspend. On top of outlandish charges, they have 3 teams at every level, multiple high school & middle school teams, plus Temple and Men's leagues on 2 sheets. Too many teams in such a small space. Going to Hollydell- 3 full sheets, 1 small sheet.  Probably will have same issues there, but have to try.

This is just a hollydell hockey coach or parent making this up.  Jaguars are top of the heap at most levels in the AHF and Hollydell is the bottom.  would have to be insane to leave for the mess that is down at Hollydell

Current 2012 Igloo parent. Hollydell better at lower ages- Mites/10UAA/12UAA. Igloo a mess at 12U and 10U. Don't care about 10U after this year, but will give opinion anyway:

- 12 UA (6)- Best (6) 2011/ (1) 2012- all leaving
- 10UAA (7)- Best 2012/3 best 2013/2nd best 2014/2 other 2012- all leaving
- best left over 2014/2013/2012/2011 at AA, A, B- not enough talent depth to play AA
- Losing the best birth year players to other rinks dilutes talent-  ripple effect across 12U/10U
- 12UAA/10UAA rough 22/23 seasons- if players stayed both good next year
- If Mercer 2012 players back next year still not enough talent to have competitive 12UAA
- 2012 players left this year for Blazers staying

BF & long time Igloo coaches miscalculated player loss after taking teams away from current 10UAA/12UA coaches- big mistake.

Leaving for Hollydell Pure 2012 team looking better everyday!

travel hockey is way too expensive, imo - as a parent on the tail end, I have seen prices go only up and very little hockey taught.  so much money wasted on so many things that do nothing to improve kids.

since we know the powers to be at black bear read these forums why don't they listen to the customers and do something about the prices that they are setting , its gotten way out of hand ice should not cost upwards of $500 an hour , a team with 14 players brings in roughly 56k multiply that times the number of teams and you are bringing in a ton of money , that doesn't count anything else like mens league in-house learn to skate etc. we all understand its a business but why should the price of one rink cost more than another rink that's owned by the same company , you are going to drive people away from the sport , its gotten past out of hand at this point and there is no justifiable reason for it ,
