Hatfield has given a 20% goalie discount for the 7 years we've been there. Bantam AA is right at $2k. Around $1600 cheaper than the nearest BB club (royals), which didn't even field a bantam aa team last year.
you are getting ripped off. the other poster said he saved almost $1000 at Hatfield. They must like their kid better than yours😂 that or he they don't like theirs and are charging them a $4500 team fee then giving the 20% goalie discount equaling $900 with a final cost of $3600. I do believe they were over blowing their discount to make Hatfield sound better. 20% is a good discount and is what our club gives also. Seems most that give them are in the 10-20 range.

I said we saved $1000 over the nearest BB rink (the royals)...the cost difference is even greater next year..

Royals Bantam AA is $3,595 + $175 tryout = $3,770.00
Genesis Bantam AA is $2,684 + $75.00 tryout - $536 goalie discount = $2,223
Difference of $1,547.00.

Where my kid plays is up to him, but I don't mind that he chose the cheaper rink.

I do apologize. I saw your post was right after a goalie discount post and took as you saying you got a 1000  discount. Does Genesis include tournaments and EJ play in that price or are they extra?

You are comparing apples and plums.  The Royals gives you 45-50+ games vs. 35 for Genesis in the fee.  Over 2/3 of the teams make the playoffs in the AHF.  Genesis gives you only 46 practices in season - the rest are cheap summer ice - while the Royals give you 56.  You get what you pay for in life - the costs will end up being the same (after you have to cough up money for tourneys and travel) with better competition in the AHF and more ice time

No I'm not. My kid is an 09 in the bantam aa at Genny last season (it was a mixed 08-09 squad)....we played 59 games and had 65 practices, with about half of those full ice and 51 in season. There was an additional golaie camp and golaie training on top of that. No additional money was spent on ice time or tournament fees, as all of that was covered through the club's fundraising.  We played a great mix of teams including teams outside the area from Canada, Chicago, Atlanta, etc. So the only additional $$ spent was gas and hotel.

You're right, we did get what we paid for.
